The ladies post on Twitter a lengthy statement in which they respond to fans' complaints that their security guards are too aggressive.

AceShowbiz - Fifth Harmony has responded to a female fan who claimed she was inappropriately touched by one of security guards they hired while they were in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The band issued via Twitter on Monday, July 4 a statement in which they slammed the fan and called her accusation "a lie."

In the post, the ladies explained what really happened during the incident taking place at a hotel where they stayed in the city. "[The fan] tried to come to [Lauren Jauregui] and [Dinah Jane Hansen] doors and the security we hired were with us speaking to us and making sure we were safe," they wrote. "We saw this girl lie to them about where she was staying and where her actual room was, tell them to 'shut the f**k up and stop talking' and then proceed to try and lunge toward Lauren's room so she could get a note to her."

"The security guard did nothing but try to make sure the girl went back down the stairs to where she was actually staying. She combated and fought to break free of their directing her and in the process was shouting that they were touching her in trying to take her clothes off," they continued. "Four of us were out there and experienced the scene with our own eyes, along with parents and other staff members. Not one security guard inappropriately touched or harmed anyone."

The five girls went on addressing fans' complaints about their protection being too aggressive and defending those working to keep them safe. "Our security team is set up and in place to protect us and our privacy when people go beyond normal boundaries," they said, adding that in light of Christina Grimmie's shooting, they "can't ever be too safe with our personal space and protection."

The girls concluded the statement saying they'd "continue to support our security team in making sure that they protect the boundaries so many people seem to think they're entitled to disrespect." "We do not appreciate people lying about our team and costing people their jobs just so they can get extra attention from us," they added. "We appreciate if you recognize it when you disrespect our team and their hard work, you're disrespecting us."

Fifth Harmony kicked off their "7/27" tour with a string of South American shows that began last month. They're bringing the tour to the U.S. and Canada later this month.
