Several sites claim that Katie's daughter Suri from her marriage to Tom Cruise was not adjusting well with Jamie in a step-father role. Thus, the 37-year-old actress allegedly chose her daughter over her relationship with Jamie.
There's also speculation that Tom was not comfortable with the idea of his daughter having another man raising her. "Tom has the money and the legal clout to re-enter his daughter's life in a big way. If he wants to play a larger role in Suri's life with more custody rights, there's no deterring him," a source recently told InTouch.
Katie was reportedly scared of facing the wrath of her ex-husband, so she chose to break up with Jamie rather than losing her daughter.
Contrary to the split rumor, OK! Magazine recently claimed that Katie and Jamie were planning to move in together. They allegedly made the move as a step to merge their families as they're ready to start their new life together. According to the publication, Katie and her daughter will live in his $30 million, 40-acre Hidden Valley, California compound.
The move-in report, however, has been debunked by Gossip Cop which cited reps for Katie and Jamie as saying that the news was "inaccurate" and "lies."
Her love life aside, Katie has been hard at work preparing for her next acting gig. The "Dawson's Creek" alum took to Instagram on Monday, May 9 to share a photo of her taking a funny selfie to show her life as an actor.
