After a number of authors claimed to write her biographies, Barbra is finally writing her own memoir to relive her memories.

AceShowbiz - Publisher Viking announced on Wednesday, May 20 that they had made a deal with Barbra Streisand to release her long-awaited memoir in 2017. The publisher said, "Barbra Streisand's memoir is the entertainment story that has been on the top of every publisher's wish list for years."

The notable singer-actress-director has been writing her memoir since 2009, compiling all the memories from her childhood to her remarkable career. The life journey of this highly-achieving actress undoubtedly attracted some people to write her biography. "There are over fifty unauthorized biographies about Ms. Streisand that are full of myths and inaccuracies, and she is finally going to tell her own story," Brian Tart, the president of Viking, said.

In 2006, she slammed one of the unauthorized biographies, Christopher Andersen's "Barbra: The Way She Is". The 73-year-old star made a response which she titled "Does the Truth Matter These Days?" on her website. She wrote, "Who is the person described in this book? From what has been told to me, certainly not anyone I know. This stereotypic image bears little resemblance to me or anything about me."

In the deal of her upcoming memoir, the songstress of "The Way We Were" was represented by attorney Robert Barnett, best known for his experience in handling book deals for prominent figures.

This is not the first time Barbra has written a book. In 2010, the same publisher, Viking, published her work titled "My Passion for Design" which described the creation and construction of her farmhouse in California.
