Jennifer Lawrence, Oprah Winfrey and More Thank David Letterman Ahead of His Final 'Late Show'

Ellen DeGeneres, Betty White, Conan O'Brien, Steve Martin and many other famous names took to Twitter to pay tribute to the veteran comedian before he signs off from television.

AceShowbiz - A bunch of celebrities have paid tribute to David Letterman before his final "Late Show" episode. They took to social media sites to thank the veteran host and comedian for his legacy on television, promoting the hashtag #ThanksDave.

Jennifer Lawrence posted on her Facebook a picture of her holding a paper with the words "Don't do this! No one is sick of you it's all in your head" written on it, trying to convince Letterman to stay on "Late Show". She captioned it, "#Dave Late Show with David Letterman."

Oprah Winfrey, who ended her rumored feud with Letterman when she visited his show in 2005, shared a picture from her last appearance on the CBS show earlier this month. "My last HA HA with Dave tonight. #ThanksDave," she wrote in the caption.

Ellen DeGeneres took to Twitter to write, "Tonight is David @Letterman's final show. What a wonderful, inspiring, hilarious, groundbreaking, amazing ride. #ThanksDave." Betty White wrote, "Tonight is @letterman's final Late Show. We love each other so much. I will miss him so. But look out -- I'll find him!! #ThanksDave."

Conan O'Brien also paid tribute to his senior as writing, "It's absolutely absurd to thank David Letterman for all he's done in a tweet. But that's the world we live in now. #ThanksDave." Steve Martin, meanwhile, inserted a joke in his tweet, "Congratulations to David Letterman, who I now believe is beginning his third career in show business."

Zooey Deschanel simply wrote, "#thanksDave," and Mindy Kaling paid tribute in similar manner, "Thank you, Dave. Love you." Both of them also shared pictures from their appearances on the show.

Maroon 5 thanked Letterman "for all the memories" and shared a video from their 2012 performance on "Late Show". Another musician Tim McGraw recalled his time visiting the show in his tweet, "#ThanksDave..... laughter, memories... playing music with Paul and the band ...and freezing my ass off in there. @Letterman."

Lena Dunham wrote on Instagram along with a picture of Letterman kissing her hand, "Dear Dave- you really know how to make a gal feel like a trillion bucks. Thank you for it all. Love- Lena." Chris Rock, meanwhile, jokingly declared himself as the new "Late Show" host.
