AceShowbiz - Two more possible candidates for the new Spider-Man emerge. During a recent episode of Meet the Movie Press, it's suggested that Asa Butterfield ("Hugo", "Ender's Game") and Nolan Gould ("Modern Family") are circling the coveted superhero role.
Butterfield, 18, did express his interest in playing the webslinger. "I'M SO DOWN!" the young star previously said on Reddit. He and Gould, 16, are facing competition from another teen actor Mateus Ward ("Weeds") who reportedly has auditioned for the part.
Spidey is rumored to appear in Marvel's "Captain America: Civil War" in May 6, 2016 before getting his own solo film later at Sony. The still untitled new Spider-Man movie is expected to be helmed by Drew Goddard ("The Cabin in the Woods").
