Lionsgate Films-Summit Entertainment is quick to issue a statement regarding the shocking news about the death of a "Twilight" fan ahead of this year's San Diego Comic-Con. The studio which produces the hugely popular vampire movie series has offered condolences to the family and friends of the 53-year-old Twihard who was killed outside the San Diego Convention Center.
"Lionsgate, Summit and the entire Twilight community are saddened by the death of a Comic-Con fan today due to a traffic accident during the hours leading up to this year's convention in San Diego," so the studio says in a statement. "Our thoughts and condolences go out to the victim's family and friends. She will be respectfully remembered this Thursday in Hall H."
Earlier on Tuesday, July 10, a female Twihard named Gisella G was struck by a passing car as she ran across the street against the light toward the Convention Center where Comic-Con will be held. The accident reportedly happened around 9 o'clock in the morning. Gisella couldn't survive after suffering from a serious head injury.
Following the sad news, plenty of Twihards took to their Twitter to generate a petition to hold a moment of silence in honor of Gisella. The supportive fans posted tons of condolences using the hashtags #RIPTwiFanG and #FandonIsFamily.
A fan called collyRK wrote, "This is really really sad. so she's gone just like that!!!,my heartfelt condolence goes to her family.may her soul rest in peace," while another one named Jessie McKinnely posted, "We are saddened by today's tragic loss & extend our condolences to her loved ones. She will be remembered at Comic-Con."
"The Twilight Saga's Breaking Dawn Part II" will be the opening panel at Comic-Con's Hall H at 12:45-1:45 P.M. on Thursday, July 12. Exclusive footage from the much awaited movie will be shown and fans will be treated to a cast and filmmaker Q&A session providing details on the epic finale.
