Donning a black bodysuit, the winner of 'Idol' season 3 teams up with this year's third-place finisher to deliver a rendition of Elton John's 'Take Me to the Pilot'.
"American Idol" finale on Wednesday, May 23 was all about the winner announcement, but Fantasia Barrino knew how to make her performance that night memorable. Tapped for a duet of "Take Me to the Pilot" with eliminated finalist Joshua Ledet, the "Bittersweet" songstress rocked a black skintight outfit that highlighted her curve.
Joshua opened the set solo before welcoming the winner of "Idol" season 3, whom he dubbed the biggest inspiration of his life. The two showed off their strong vocals on the stage before walking down the stage to greet the audience. They kept screaming until their performance was cut for a commercial break.
While Joshua had a chance to team up with his idol, fellow contestants Hollie Cavanagh, Skylar Laine, Elise Testone, Erika Van Pelt, Shannon Magrane and Jessica Sanchez were lucky to share a stage with Chaka Khan to sing "I'm Every Woman". Jessica additionally had a duet with Jennifer Holliday in a performance of "And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going".
Another "Idol" alumna Jordin Sparks was also invited back to the show for a cover of "You'll Never Walk Alone" with Hollie. Meanwhile, the boys of the Top 12 (minus Phillip Phillips) were joined by Neil Diamond to sing "Sweet Caroline".
Also catering the audience before Ryan Seacrest announced the champion of the singing competition were Rihanna, Jennifer Lopez, Aerosmith, Reba McEntire and many others. Later that night, Phillip repeated his performance of "Home" after he was declared the winner of the eleventh season.
