The 'How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying' star also reveals that he has filmed his part for the series' upcoming Michael Jackson tribute in just four days.
Darren Criss is bringing good news to all Blaine fans out there. Though he will be kept away from "Glee" by his Broadway debut in "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying", the 24-year-old actor assures that he'll only "be gone for maybe one or two episodes". He tells E! Online, "There's a lot going on on that show. You won't even notice!"
The "Eastwick" actor also gushes that he has an exciting part in the Michael Jackson tribute episode. "I thought that before I was going to leave, they might write Blaine out just to make things easier on everybody," he spills. "Nope! Right before I left, Blaine had a lot of really cool things to do for the Michael Jackson episode."
"When you see that episode, I shot all my stuff in four days," he further recalls. "It was quick! It was a shotgun of crazy, exhausting stuff and it was both a thrill - because you really wanna do justice to these awesome songs - but frustrating, because I wanted it to be perfect and amazing. So hopefully they cut it right."
On his solo part, Darren shares, "Blaine is doing 'You Wanna Be Startin' Somethin' ' by himself, which is a great tune." He adds, "Wildest lyrics ever! It's cool because it's Michael Jackson. But at one point he's like, 'You're a vegetable. You're a vegetable. They eat off of you. You're just a buffet. You're a vegetable.' [And it's like], 'Whatever. Michael Jackson's singing it. It's cool!' "
The MJ tribute episode is slated to air on January 24. Words are, the New Directions and the Warblers may collaborate in two songs, "Bad" and "We Are the World". Brittany and Santana reportedly will perform a duet with "In the Closet", while Finn and Rachel will cover "I Just Can't Stop Loving You".
