Not yet having kids with his actress wife Scarlett Johansson, whom he wed late last year, Ryan Reynolds has revealed his intention to adopt. In an interview with Glamour U.K. he opens up, "My oldest brother is adopted and I have every intention of adopting at some time. I'm very grateful for having my brother in my life. I couldn't be more pro-adoption. There are plenty of kids in the world that need it."

The youngest of four brothers, Ryan is thankful that the years he has spent with his siblings help him scoring numerous action roles in movies, like "X-Men Origins: Wolverine." Speaking about that matter, he says, "I [learned] how to take a punch from a very early age. I was routinely pummeled into a fine cottage cheese."

In further interview, Ryan also gives credit to his parents, from whom he inherits his good looks and brains. "I have my father's face and body, but my mother's unshakeable thirst for knowledge," he tells Glamour U.K. "She works part-time jobs, but basically she's been a student her whole life. She still goes to university and she's in her 60s."

Ryan Reynolds has been married to Scarlett Johansson since September 27, 2008. In an interview with Harper's Bazaar for its February issue, Scarlett was quoted as stating she and Ryan have no plans to start a family just yet. "I'm not pregnant nor will I be any time soon," she said at that time.

It is very new news to say there are many adoptees who are against adoption - just Google the word adoptee to see them. I think this gentleman is very well meaning though.
