Paula Abdul has reportedly told a friend that she is threatened with the addition of Kara DioGuardi as an 'American Idol' fourth judge.

AceShowbiz - This week's addition of Kara DioGuardi in the judging panel of talent TV show "American Idol" have left some speculations, one of which says that the show will change their judge line-up. A source even claims that the show's producer is hiring a new younger female judge to ditch Paula Abdul.

Paula has recently showed her concern over the new judge and says that she is worried about the audience's acceptance. According to Us Magazine, Abdul has told Phoenix's KISS-FM, "I am concerned about the audience and acceptance. Time will tell. We'll see."

Speaking of Kara, Paula continues saying that they are old friends who used to work together and after a long time separation, Paula welcomes her and considers it as a reunion. "[Kara] was my roommate! And I took her all around the world with me and introduced her to wonderful people...She stayed in Sweden and wrote with these people and got started living her dream," Paula explains in the interview.

However, Paula's statement has apparently failed to wash away the cornering gossip. An insider from the Idol show states in this week's edition of the National Enquirer that Paula is actually feeling a bit threatened by Kara. "Paula is trying to put a happy face on this situation, but she feels very threatened that a younger, internationally successful female is joining the cast of judges," the insider says.

Furthermore, Paula has reportedly told a friend that she is going to be booted off the show. "Paula sees Kara's introduction onto the show as the beginning of the end of her 'Idol' career," the insider states. Unfortunately, Paula as well as the Idol's producer and representative haven't given any confirmation yet.
