Contrary to heavy persistent media speculation that claimed Queen Latifah is coming out of the closet to confirm her sexual orientation and is engaged to be married to longtime partner Jeannete Jenkins, the actress-singer has come to denial, insisted there will be no wedding.
Denying rumors that she planned to announce an engagement to her personal trainer/girlfriend, Latifah told Chicago radio personality Kendra G. of Power 92 while attending a premiere screening of her new film "The Perfect Holiday" at the Ice Theater in Chicago recently, "Oh my goodness you guys actually believe that. You can't believe everything you read, there will be no major announcement made. The only major announcement I have to make is 'Merry Christmas'".
Furthermore insisted Jenkins is her personal trainer and that's the extent of their "relationship," Latifah told The Chicago Sun-Times "There ain't gonna be no wedding. When you're famous these days, it's just part of the deal - unfortunately. People will make up all sorts of things that are not true."
Early this month, gossip blogger Perez Hilton ran a short claim, based on The New York Post report on Monday December 3, about a non-disclosed actress preparing to come out, that said he thought the star was Latifah.
The New York Post story said, "WHICH big Hollywood actress is about to come out of the closet? She's been living with her girlfriend in a small town, where all the neighbors know, and the two are now engaged to be married."
And so Perez came to such assumption, wrote on his site "If it's not Queen Latifah, who lives in a small town in New Jersey, then who is it???? (Jodie Foster lives in the not-so-small city of Los Angeles.)"
