Andy Garcia, John Cleese, Alfred Molina, and Aishwarya Rai have all signed on with Jean Reno and Emily Mortimer returning for the sequel.
Here come more big names after Steve Martin for "The Pink Panther 2", Columbia Pictures/MGM's sequel to their last year's "The Pink Panther."
Variety reported that Andy Garcia, John Cleese, Alfred Molina, and Aishwarya Rai have all been added into the cast with Jean Reno and Emily Mortimer to reprise their roles of Gendarme Gilbert Ponton and Nicole, respectively.
While Cleese will be billed as chief inspector Dreyfus in the flick, Garcia, Molina, and Rai are said to play detectives and experts who join forces with Martin's Clouseau to catch the thief who has been stealing artifacts around the world.
Scheduled for a February 13, 2009 release, pic has also had former Spice Girls member Emma Bunton attached to portray Mylie Baxter, the lead female character in the movie. Beyonce Knowles reportedly was offered to return as pop singer Xania, but decided to turn it down, similar to former Miss Universe Jennifer Hawkins and Bollywood star Celina Jaintley who both refused to take part in the film.
