'This Is It' Promoter Calls Michael Jackson 'an Emotionally Paralyzed Mess'

A series of confidential AEG emails to and from Randy Phillips and Tim Leiweke has emerged lately regarding the condition of Michael Jackson during the time he was rehearsing for and promoting his comeback concert "This Is It". The promoters expressed doubts as to whether the artist could pull off the shows.

This series of emails, which consisted of at least 250 pages, was a part of the discovery for a lawsuit between the insurance company that backed the concert series and AEG. In one of the said emails, Phillips wrote, "MJ is locked in his room drunk and despondent," to which Leiweke replied, "Are you kidding me?"

Azealia Banks Releases Music Video for '1991'

The visuals for Azealia Banks' song "1991" from an extended play of the same name has just been released. It came out just a couple of days before the start of her scheduled U.K. tour this autumn. The new music video begins with a shot of the rapper's physique, followed by several close-up shots of her face's different features. The video also shows her in a massive white room singing and dancing to her own tune.

The rapper, who caused controversy with her Dazed & Confused magazine cover, also revealed the release of her debut album entitled "Broke With Expensive Taste" via a post on her official Twitter account. She wrote, "Broke With Expensive Taste will be out first quarter of 2013 on Feb 12. (2/12)." The album will be preceded by a series of concerts which will start on September 28 at the Machester Academy and end on October 12 at the Shepherds Bush Empire.

Scribe Alex Garland Reveals His Plans and Vision for 'Dredd' Sequel

"Dredd" hasn't even opened in theaters nationwide, but scribe Alex Garland already gushed about his vision on the film's sequel. In a recent Q&A session with fans on 2000AD Online, Garland revealed details of his plans for the possible follow-up movie, including which character would appear and what the story would be like.

"If I was involved in a second movie, it would be about origins and subversion, and Chopper would feature," he said. "In fact, I think Chopper would start and end the story. Apart from him, my rough plan involves Fargo, Giant, Angel Gang, and a version of Satanus. For a trilogy, add Cal and the dark judges. And Anderson would be in all three. But... just to be clear, this is hugely speculative and also unlikely, for any number of reasons."

Despite report to the contrary, it looks like Katy Perry and John Mayer are still pretty much together. The couple was recently spotted watching a music festival in downtown Los Angeles on Saturday, September 1. They watched Purity Ring, Sleigh Bells and M83 performing on stage.

Katy and John were joined by some friends and stayed low-key, but a few fans recognized them and took pictures that were later posted online. He wore a cowboy hat and denims, while she had a fedora and floral-print dress. One concertgoer, Jennifer Solorio, tweeted the twosome had "plenty of cuddles and kisses."

Bobby Brown's Wife Rushed to Emergency Room

Bobby Brown took his plea for prayers to Twitter when his wife of three months, Alicia Etheredge, was rushed to an Orlando hospital after suffering a seizure. He wrote, "The report that my wife was rushed to the hospital is true. She is recovering and in good spirits. Please keep my family in your prayers."

According to Gossip Extra, Brown was doing a soundcheck in preparation for New Edition's 30th anniversary celebration concert when he was informed that his wife, who also serves as his manager, was not feeling well. She had seizure at their hotel room in Kissimmee, Fla., while he was at the Gaylord Palms Resort.

Despite its starry cast ensemble, Terrence Malick's latest drama "To the Wonder" couldn't win the heart of some movie critics. Premiered at the 2012 Venice Film Festival on Sunday, September 2, the romantic movie drew mixed reactions from reviewers. Some of them even dubbed it "disappointing."

Chris Pine recently took time to discuss the highly secretive sequel to "Star Trek". Without revealing plot details of the anticipated movie, the James T. Kirk depicter shared director J.J. Abrams' vision for the film. He claimed that the filmmaker didn't aim to follow the footsteps of Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy, which was presented in the pitch of "like the original, but darker."

The latest Batman installment has officially become the 13th movie of all time to reach $1 billion in box office. Christopher Nolan's "The Dark Knight Rises" hit the milestone on Sunday, September 2, grossing $431.2 million domestically and around $574 million internationally. They amount to $1.005 billion.

Consequently, WB's "Dark Knight Rises" is doing even better than its predecessor "The Dark Knight" which raked in $1.0003 billion worldwide in 2008. However, this is because "Rises" is more exposed to international market than "Dark Knight".

PETA Calls Rihanna and Lady GaGa 'Freaks' for Wearing Animals

PETA has launched a verbal attack against Rihanna and Lady GaGa for including animal products in their fashion. The animal rights organization called the singers "freaks" after they spotted Rihanna wearing a pair of knee-high snakeskin boots and GaGa wearing "turncoat".

"Rihanna may not have a clue that snakes killed for boots are often nailed to a tree and skinned alive," a spokesperson for PETA said in a statement, adding, "Of course, they can't go on Oprah to cry about it."

Courtney Stodden Says No to Porn, Yes to Playboy

Responding to the numerous job offers in the porn industry, teen bride Courtney Stodden said she has no interest in them. She continued she'd rather try something more classy like a spread on Playboy, tweeting "No to porn ... yes to @Playboy ;) xxx".

Problem is, the adult magazine wants nothing to do with the sexy 18-year-old. Sources of Playboy told TMZ that no offer or invitation has been extended to Stodden because she "doesn't meet the standards of a Playboy model" and is too "enhanced".
