Donna Summer's Family Releases Statement on Her Death

Donna Summer has died on Thursday, May 17 morning in Florida at the age of 63. The singer's family has released a statement confirming her death, stating they are "at peace celebrating her extraordinary life."

"Early this morning, surrounded by family, we lost Donna Summer Sudano, a woman of many gifts, the greatest being her faith. While we grieve her passing, we are at peace celebrating her extraordinary life and her continued legacy," her family said through her publicist.

Whitney Houston's Friend Fires Off Legal Threat Over Connection to Singer's Death

Whitney Houston's family might have moved on with their life three months after the R&B diva's untimely death, but one of her friends is still trying to clear his name. According to TMZ, Raffles van Exel has fired off cease and desist letters to media outlets that connected him negatively to the passing of the "Step by Step" singer.

In the wake of Houston's death, words spread that van Exel might have been the one who supplied the singer with cocaine before her death. After he reportedly admitted to the Dutch Telegraph newspaper to clearing the singer's hotel room before police arrived, he was linked to report that someone scrubbed away any traces of coke from the scene.

50 Cent has been admitted to hospital for a reason that is yet to be confirmed. The 36-year-old rapper, who will be releasing his new mixtape, "The Lost Tape", in the U.S. next Tuesday, May 22, took to his Twitter account on Wednesday, May 16 to share several photos of him lying in a hospital bed.

Along with the first picture, Fiddy tweeted, "I'm in the hospital but my gangsta grillz LOST TAPE is done so it will be out on time." When posting the second one, the "Baby by Me" MC alluded to an imminent surgery. "I don't want to go into surgery," he wrote before telling boxer Floyd Mayweather, Jr., "call my phone why your phone off."

Called "Quiet Eye", the fresh clip focuses on Noomi Rapace as Dr. Elizabeth Shaw, and sees her sending a message to Guy Pearce's Peter Weyland of Weyland Industries.

Interestingly, Yutani makes its first appearance in the video. As Shaw is imploring Weyland to help finance her research in uncovering humanity's origins, the fictional company from the "Alien" series monitors her call. It can also be seen how the company's software is analyzing the scientist's face as she delivers her heartfelt plea.

Another sad news has come from the music industry. Just a few days after Donald "Duck" Dunn of Booker T. and the MGs passed away in his sleep, words spread that Washington, D.C.'s funk music legend Chuck Brown has died at the age of 75 after being hospitalized for about four weeks with pneumonia.

Manager Tom Goldfogle told CNN that Brown, who was hailed as the "Godfather of Go-Go", died of multiple-organ failure from sepsis at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore. In a statement about the guitarist/singer's passing, he said, "His family continues to be grateful for the outpouring of love and support and requests respect for their privacy during this difficult time."

OneRepublic Drummer Claims His Innocence After Arrest in Denver

Eddie Fisher is maintaining his innocence a day after he got arrested on suspicion of assault. The OneRepublic drummer pleaded not guilty to the charges of assault, destruction of private property, wrongs to a minor and two counts of disturbing the peace when he appeared in court on Wednesday, May 16. He was freed on $550 bond.

Fisher was taken into custody by Denver police early Tuesday after an argument with his girlfriend, Lonnie Weygant, turned violent. An arrest affidavit obtained by 9News uncovered that police were called to a home in east Denver at around 1:30 A.M. by Weygant's roommate. While Weygant told dispatchers her hand was injured, Fisher was bleeding from a small cut on his forehead.

With "American Idol", recording albums, clothing line and other projects in line, Jennifer Lopez has been named the most powerful in Forbes' annual Forbes Celebrity 100 list. "With $52 million in earnings over the last 12 months and a massive amount of fame, Lopez lands at No. 1 on our Celebrity 100 list for the first time," the mag's Dorothy Pomerantz wrote.

Lopez dethrones previous champion Lady GaGa who now takes the fifth position with $52 million in earnings, down from $90 million last year. At number two is Oprah Winfrey. "Her 25-year syndication run ended in May but she still managed to earn more than anyone else on the list ($165 million) thanks to her empire of spin-off shows (Dr. Phil, Rachael Ray) her magazine and her radio deal with Sirius XM," Forbes wrote.

Missing Person Report Filed for 'Terminator' Star Nick Stahl

"Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines" actor Nick Stahl is reported missing. His wife Roseann filed a missing-person report on Monday, May 14 morning, worrying of his well-being. LAPD Officer Rosario Herrera told People, "I can confirm that he's missing and, as of now, he is still missing."

Stahl was reportedly last seen on May 9. According to TMZ, he had been seen recently in the Skid Row area of Los Angeles. There are concerns that he was involved in some bad stuff.
