Vanessa Hudgens and Ashley Tisdale have returned back to Los Angeles with sun-tanned skin. The two young actresses, who starred opposite each other in Disney Channel's "High School Musical" series, were snapped arriving at LAX Airport on Tuesday, May 3 after enjoying some R&R together in Mexico.

Dexter Morgan may not be alone anymore in season 6 of "Dexter" following his wife's death at the end of season 4. The Weinstein Company has allegedly chosen a director to helm the remake of Akira Kurosawa's classic "The Seven Samurai". Variety reports that Scott Mann has been hired to tackle the project, which also has the backing of Kurosawa Productions.

Released in 1950s, the original version of "The Seven Samurai" tells a story of seven samurai hired to fight bandits. The movie, considered as one of the greatest cinematic works, inspired John Sturges' "The Magnificent Seven" which was released in 1960s.

While things are still messy over at "The Wolverine", Hugh Jackman may use the spare time to star in "Fantastic Voyage". The actor reportedly is director Shawn Levy's top choice to star in the remake of the 1966 film after they worked together in "Real Steel" and got along well.

Excited on the tone of the movie which has a dramatic love story, Levy signed up as the director of "Voyage" earlier this year although it doesn't have a green light yet. The first movie follows a team of scientists shrunk into a ship in an attempt to save a colleague's life. The re-imagining is using a script by Shane Salerno and Laeta Kalogridis who are expected to turn up the new draft soon.

Train have just released a music video in support of their latest single "Save Me San Francisco". The frontman of the band, Pat Monahan, is a wedding crasher in this clip. He's barging in on a white veil occasion and tries to get his supposedly love interest to back out of her nuptials.

The song is a title track of Train's studio album of the same name "Save Me San Francisco". Monagan once said, "Our goal with this record was to get back to our San Francisco vibe that we had when we made our first album."

First clip for "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" has been debuted online. The video, which is obtained from Yahoo! Movies and entitled "Palace Escape", focuses on Johnny Depp's Jack Sparrow who escapes from Geoffrey Rush's Barbossa.

CBS has officially appointed Scott Pelley as the new anchor for "CBS Evening News". The correspondent for "60 Minutes" will replace Katie Couric, who has announced her imminent departure after five years at the network on April 26.

"Scott has it all. He has the experience, the credibility and he is among the very best reporters ever to work at CBS News," said Jeff Fager, CBS News chairman and "60 Minutes" executive producer. "In more than two decades at CBS News, he has distinguished himself at every level, right up to his current role at '60 Minutes,' where his work has been incomparable."

Hip hop star Waka Flocka Flame has been cleared of drug related charges after a jury in Georgia ruled there was not sufficient evidence to convict the rapper. The "Onion Booty" hitmaker, real name Juaquin Malphurs, surrendered to Atlanta-area police in January after an arrest warrant was issued for the star's arrest stemming from a raid on his Georgia home last year. He was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and was subsequently bailed after posting $40,000 (GBP26,667).

Feuding Aerosmith bandmates Steven Tyler and Joe Perry have set aside their differences and plan to prove they're still very much pals by performing together on the season finale of "American Idol".

The rockers fell out when Tyler announced plans to take an indefinite hiatus from the band in late 2009 and Perry publicly considered replacing the frontman. The band reunited for shows in 2010, but Perry and Tyler fell out again when the singer announced he'd be joining TV talent show American Idol as a judge last year.

As expected, Mike Sorrentino aka The Situation lands his own show after "Jersey Shore" fame. He is the latest, after Snooki, JWoww and DJ Pauly D, to sign a deal with MTV to star in a spin-off which pilot presentation will be filmed later this year.

"I'm excited to continue my relationship with MTV, which has been home for me for the last couple of years," he said in a statement. "I'm really grateful for all the support from my fans. Hopefully, there will be plenty more situations in the future." It is yet clear what kind of subject he would be filming.

Jenny Conlee, the keyboard player with cult indie act The Decemberists, has been diagnosed with breast cancer. The musician and band leader Colin Meloy have taken to the group's website to break the bad news to fans - but both remain optimistic.

Meloy writes, "The good news is that Jenny caught it early and... the prognosis is very, very good for a full recovery. Conlee adds, "To be making music with everyone and seeing the fans has helped me to feel more positive and keep my mind off of my diagnosis. Kelly Clarkson has recorded a joint track with fellow "American Idol" alum Chris Daughtry, it was confirmed. Pop/rock singer/songwriter Richard Marx revealed the duet during a recent interview with 95.5 PLJ.

Richard said the song is titled "One More Yesterday" and he has songwriting credit on it. "I've heard the rough mix of it, and the singing can't be beat, between the two of them," the 47-year-old musician further spilled the beans about the project.

The producers of the much-publicized Gotti family biopic have confirmed reports suggesting "Rain Man" director Barry Levinson has signed on to helm their star-studded film. Fiore Films boss Marc Fiore reveals Levinson will replace Nick Cassavetes, who quit the project last month. Levinson will direct John Travolta, Joe Pesci and Lindsay Lohan in "Gotti: Three Generations".

In making the official announcement on Tuesday, May 3, Fiore tells WENN, "Barry Levinson is one of the most pre-eminent directors of our generation. Barry has been a driving force in filmmaking for the past 35 years and has directed some of the most memorable movies of our time." The filmmaker adds, "What really attracted me to the story was that it was from the perspective of John Gotti Jr. You see an insider's look that I haven't seen told before."

AMC has released the first sneak peek to its new series "Hell on Wheels". It features Anson Mount as a former confederate soldier Cullen Bohannon who is seeking revenge on the Union troops who killed his family. His quest leads him to the Union Pacific Railroad's westward construction of the first Transcontinental Railroad.

Set against the backdrop of America post-Civil War, the Western drama documents the institutionalized greed and corruption, the immigrant experience, and the plight of the newly emancipated African-Americans during reconstruction. Over time, the show also chronicles this potent turning point in our nation's history, and how uncivilized the business of civilization can be.

Nicole Kidman could reunite with her "Dead Calm" director Phillip Noyce should talks with the producers of "Our Wild Life" end up well. The actress has read a script written by Jeff Stockwell and reportedly is interested to portray Dame Daphne Sheldrick in the drama about the wildlife conservationist's work with animals.

A spokeswoman for Kidman told The Wrap that the actress is yet to reach a deal but liked the script. Meanwhile, Noyce who directed 2010's "Salt" is already attached to direct. Before him, Nick Cassavetes was vetted to direct but was let go and he later sued New Line before dropping it altogether. "Dark Water" helmer Walter Salles was at one point also in negotiations to direct.

Disney has found another star to appear in "Oz, the Great and Powerful". After James Franco and Mila Kunis are officially cast as the titular character and Theodora respectively, Rachel Weisz is now reportedly in negotiations to play in the movie as well.

Deadline reports that Weisz is in talks with Walt Disney Pictures to take the role of Evanora, the evil witch who intends to rule the land. Evanora is the sister of Theodora, who lures the latter into a dark side.

Oscar nominee Saoirse Ronan has allegedly been tapped to star in novel-adapted "The Host (2012)". Deadline reports that the actress will take the role of Melanie Stryder, one of the last humans putting up a fight against an alien species called Souls.

Melanie is captured by the aliens, which fuse to each person's consciousness and systematically erase their personalities. She is later implanted by a Soul called Wanderer, something of a legend because of all of the "hosts" she has attached to on numerous planets.

"60 Minutes" scores the first interview with Barack Obama since he announced the death of terrorist Osama bin Laden. The U.S. President has agreed to sit down with the CBS show's correspondent Steve Kroft for a chat to be conducted at the White House on Wednesday, May 4. The interview will be broadcast on "60 Minutes" on Sunday, May 8 at 7 P.M. ET/PT.

In the meantime, it has been reported that Obama drew 56 million American viewers when he announced the killing of Osama on Sunday, May 1. According to Nielsen, the nine-minute speech which was aired from 11:35 to 11:44 P.M. EDT on 9 networks, including ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN and Fox News, had a combined household rating of 33.9.

Next week would be the "Glee" episode which had people talking. Beside being given a spoiler, courtesy of the show's extra, about who would be the prom king and queen, this is the episode where the New Direction boys would cover Rebecca Black's "Friday", and where Jonathan Groff returns as Jesse St. James.

An extra spilled last month on Twitter about who would be the prom queen and king in the May 10 episode, inviting wrath from not only fans but the show's co-creator Brad Falchuck. It is, however, unclear whether the spoiler, which names Kurt and Dave Karofsky as queen and king respectively, contains truth.
