Green Day and Slash will help American football team the New York Jets christen the new Meadowlands stadium next month, on September 13 by performing at the home squad's big game against the Baltimore Ravens.

Green Day will hit the arena with the cast of the "American Idiot" musical at half-time, performing "Last of the American Girls", while Slash will perform with The Pussycat Dolls leader Nicole Scherzinger before the kick-off. Scherzinger is also slated to sing the national anthem.

Pop star Kevin Jonas and his new bride Danielle Deleasa have taken their extended honeymoon on the road - the couple has their own bus for the Jonas Brothers' U.S. tour. The pair wed in December 2009 and the singer's wife is making the most of life on tour - she's perfecting her cookery skills.

Danielle tells USA Today, "The caterer has been teaching me new dishes." And she admits she isn't missing her home comforts - she's brought them with her, saying "I brought my pillows from home... and we're also putting up family photos. Steve Tilston was a 21-year-old aspiring singer/songwriter when he gave an interview to ZigZag magazine in 1971, explaining how he feared he would lose his creativity if he became rich and successful.

The interview touched a nerve with millionaire superstar Lennon, who penned a letter to Tilston telling him a person doesn't change just because they have more money - before sending it to the reporter at the publication's offices. But the first time Tilston became aware of the correspondence was when an American collector called him to check the letter's authenticity.

Tila Tequila won't receive any sympathy from Samantha Ronson after her alleged music festival attack - the DJ confesses she laughed when she saw the snaps of her injuries. The 28-year-old singer/reality star, real name Tila Nguyen, claims she was pelted with beer bottles and firecrackers while she rapped at the Gathering of the Juggalos event, which began on Thursday, August 12.

Police are currently investigating her allegations and Tequila, who released pictures of her alleged injuries, has vowed to sue her attackers. But Lindsay Lohan's ex-lover Ronson won't be supporting the reality TV star's legal bid. The DJ tells TMZ, "I did laugh when I saw the photographs. I f**king hate her so much."

Nikki Sixx's ex-girlfriend Kat Von D has denied she is dating Sandra Bullock's disgraced ex-husband Jesse James - her representative insists the pair is "just friends". The tattooist was rumored to have moved on from the Motley Crue musician with fellow reality TV star James after they were spotted dining together in Las Vegas at the weekend, August 14.

But Von D's rep insists there is no romance with James, who was famously dumped by his Oscar-winning wife after his cheating hit the headlines earlier this year. The publicist tells People, "They did have dinner, but they are just friends. There is no romance there with Jesse."

U2 rocker Bono was left frustrated with his lack of willpower while recovering from emergency back surgery earlier this year - he took up smoking again to deal with his boredom. The Irish band had to postpone the North American trek of its world tour and scrap its headlining slot at Britain's Glastonbury festival in June after Bono was admitted to hospital for the operation in May.

R&B singer Fantasia Barrino has spoken out for the first time since her drugs overdose, thanking fans for supporting her through a "challenging time". The "American Idol" star was hospitalized for an overdose earlier this month after she became entangled in divorce proceedings between North Carolina couple Antwaun Cook and his estranged wife Paula.

She is now facing legal action from her love rival under a North Carolina law which allows a victim of adultery to sue for alienation of affection and criminal conversation. Jean-Claude Van Damme refused to appear in Sylvester Stallone's all-star action film "The Expendables", because he would have to lose a fight to Jet Li. Stallone corralled a hitlist of Hollywood hard men to appear in the film, but "Universal Soldier" star Van Damme turned him down, because the Belgian martial arts expert failed to get the movie's satirical undertones.

Stallone tells Britain's Sunday Times, "I wanted to set Jean-Claude against Jet Li, but he didn't want to lose to Jet. He didn't think that was cool. But that's why it would be cool; to have Jean-Claude beaten by the other man. Hey, they could have a rematch. But Steven Seagal and Van Damme, they weren't really into our gallows humor."

Actress Patricia Arquette is seeking primary custody of her young daughter after filing for divorce from husband Thomas Jane on Friday, August 13. The "Medium" star confirmed she has split from "The Punisher" actor last week, with her spokesperson saying, "The split is completely amicable and their prime focus is their daughter."

Arquette filed for an official split in a Los Angeles court on Friday, and is seeking legal and physical custody of their seven-year-old daughter, Harlow. It is the second break-up for the couple, who married in 2006. Arquette filed for divorce in January 2009, only to ask to have the petition dismissed months later after reuniting with Jane.

Jesse McCartney has just completed his new studio album. As the first offering, the "Beautiful Soul" hitmaker promised he is going to send the lead single titled "Shake" to radio after Labor Day, September 6.

Despite to be an Avon salesman, Hugh Jackman has apparently chosen to be a mutant. The actor has bailed on "Avon Man" in which he was set to take the lead role and Deadline Hollywood claims he will spend the late fall getting in shape to reprise his role as Logan in "Wolverine 2", which will begin production early 2011.

Country music legend Tammy Wynette's husband, George Richey, has been buried near his wife after urging friends and family to keep his death from the media. Richey, who managed Wynette throughout the 1980s and co-wrote her hits "Til I Can Make It on My Own" and "You & Me", died on July 31, according to reports. He was 74.

He had requested there be no public memorial service or an announcement of his death, but Nashville newspaper The Tennessean unearthed details of his burial on Monday, August 16. Richey also co-wrote songs for George Jones and worked as a producer.

Reports suggest the unnamed Hispanic child minder, who lost her battle with cancer at the weekend (August 14 or 15), witnessed the actor/director's alleged attacks on the Russian singer.

The babysitter was even featured in Gibson's phone rants that were taped by Grigorieva and leaked to the media earlier this summer.

Kristin Cavallari and Doug Reinhardt turn out to be not heading into a romantic relationship. The long-time friends have been reported "smooching" and "making out" at Voyeur nightclub in Hollywood on Saturday night, August 14. However, Kristin's publicist Jack Ketsoyan has slammed the swirling rumor.

"Kristin Cavallari and Doug Reinhardt have been friends since high school, they were not spotting getting 'cozy' or 'making out' at Voyeur this past weekend," Jack told Perez Hilton. Linkin Park plan to debut "The Catalyst" music video on August 26. As a teaser, several on-set pictures are brought forward, featuring the band playing with colorful paint and rocking out the lead single of new album "A Thousand Suns".

The music video is directed by the band's member DJ Joe Hahn. Bassist Dave Farrell told MTV, "Joe likes to create things visually, likes to go for something big. So the look of it is very different. There's a lot of energy in it, and for me, that's what makes for a good video. It adds something to the song, and that's what makes me like this particular video even more."

"The Hills" co-stars Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt's marriage will officially be over in February. Montag walked out on her husband of two years in May this year and filed a divorce petition in Santa Monica, California Superior Court last month, citing irreconcilable differences.

Pratt signed off on the papers after he was served last week and the divorce will be finalized in six months time. Montag's lawyer, Jodeane Farrell, tells TMZ.com, "Both Heidi and Spencer are in agreement to settle their divorce as quickly as possible without the need of a court appearance."

Brand new official photos from "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I" have made their way out via Yahoo! Movies. Justin Bieber has exacted revenge on a Michigan teenager who allegedly hacked into his Twitter account - by publishing the youngster's phone number on the social networking website. Detroit, Michigan-based teen Kevin Kristopik is accused of recently accessing the star's page and acquiring the singer's phone number.

The "Baby" hitmaker was flooded with calls and decided to get his own back on the troublemaker, unleashing his 4.5 million followers on Kristopik by "tweeting" his number in an online prank. The pop star wrote, "Everyone call me 248-(Kristopik's number) or text." Bieber took the post down within minutes but Kristopik's line had already been jammed with calls, reports Gawker.

Troubled rapper Foxy Brown faces up to a year behind bars after she was indicted on a charge of criminal contempt following an altercation with her New York neighbor in July. The hip-hop star, real name Inga Marchand, was arrested and charged with public lewdness and harassment after the run-in with Arlene Raymond outside her Brooklyn home.

Raymond, who had previously obtained a court order against Brown, claimed the rapper had violated the ban by becoming involved in a heated argument with her before allegedly baring her bottom. Brown has denied the reports but she faced questioning over the incident during a series of hearings at Brooklyn Supreme Court last week, and on Friday, August 13 prosecutors officially charged her with criminal contempt in the second degree.

Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay has sold his British production company, two weeks after he was hit with a demand for more than $2 million in unpaid taxes. Ramsay's Optomen Productions, which produces the Brit's U.K. television shows "The F Word" and "Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares", has been sold to All3Media for $60 million, reports the New York Post.

In early August, it emerged U.S. authorities had sent his firm Gordon Ramsay Holdings three outstanding tax bills in the last eight months. The most recent demand, sent in July, totaled $484,500. A spokesperson for Gordon Ramsay Holdings subsequently confirmed the taxes are not the reality TV star's personal liabilities.

Talk show queen Oprah Winfrey has agreed to boost her presence on her new U.S. TV network OWN after broadcasting bosses agreed to allocate an additional $89 million to the venture. Executives at Discovery Communications initially invested $100 million in a joint venture with Winfrey to premiere the mogul's new network in January 2011.

A report published in early August on Discovery's second quarter earnings revealed the firm had already spent three quarters of the "maximum of $100 million that we're obligated to". Now Discovery bosses have agreed to pump another $89 million into the project - after Winfrey agreed to either host or star in another show featured on the network.

George Clooney's rep has laughed off reports he has proposed to his girlfriend Elisabetta Canalis after she was spotted wearing a sparking accessory on her ring finger while holidaying in Italy. The "Ocean's Eleven" star, who has been dating the Italian model/TV presenter since summer 2009, sparked rumors he was heading to the altar this weekend when Canalis was snapped smiling while waving her left hand in the air, appearing to show off her new piece of jewelery.

British pop star Will Young is the top role model for gay youngsters in Britain, according to a new survey. The singer 'came out' shortly after he won U.K. reality contest "Pop Idol" in 2002 and voters on rights group Stonewall's website have named him their favourite gay public figure.

Lil Wayne's demands in prison have been made public in a list which includes the hip-hop star's requests for potato chips, chocolate bars and cookies. The rapper, real name Dwayne Carter, is serving time at New York's tough Rikers Island prison after pleading guilty to charges of gun possession, and is expected to be released in November.

Now a list of the star's requests from behind bars has been leaked, with documents showing the "Lollipop" hitmaker has been able to enjoy his favorite foods during his prison stretch. Wayne's list of food requests for the month of July, obtained by TMZ.com, includes 25 bags of Doritos and Ruffles potato chips, five bottles of Gatorade drink, chocolate chip cookies, Hershey bars and four bottles of Kool-Aid.

The Gap Band bassist Robert Wilson has died after suffering a heart attack at the age of 53. Wilson's body was found by his adult son at his home in Los Angeles on Sunday, August 15 after his family became concerned when they were unable to contact him, according to his publicist and manager, Don Jackson.

The bassist formed The Gap Band with his older brothers Ronnie and Charlie Wilson in 1967, when he was just a teenager, in their hometown of Tulsa, Oklahoma. They scored hits in the late 1970s and '80s with singles such as "Yearning for Your Love", "Early in the Morning" and "You Dropped a Bomb on Me", and Wilson's musical prowess earned him the nickname the "Godfather of Bass Guitar".

Guns N' Roses' management team has moved swiftly to deny reports the band has canceled their upcoming gigs after a hacker posted a fake message on Axl Rose's Twitter page. Fans of the rockers were left stunned on Sunday, August 15 to see a post on the micro blogging site, seemingly from the frontman, declaring all their imminent shows had been axed.

The message read, "All upcoming Guns N' Roses dates are officially canceled. Please contact your place of purchase for any refunds." But the band's rep has spoken out to clarify the speculation, insisting the message was not genuine and planned tour dates in the autumn, as well as slots at Britain's upcoming Reading and Leeds festivals, will go ahead as planned.

Alexander Skarsgard had an unusual inspiration for his vampire character in "True Blood" - he bases his predatory prowl on a lion. The 33 year old plays bloodsucking Eric Northman in the hit U.S. series and Skarsgard was keen to make the role as menacing as possible.

He tells Britain's Telegraph magazine, "I try to find that animalistic quality, and the element of danger. Inspiration came from a documentary about lions in Africa. I was fascinated by the male lion, the way he moved, the confidence."

Julia Roberts almost rejected her starring role in new film "Eat, Pray, Love" - because she was worried about uprooting her family for the shoot. The movie is a big screen adaptation of Elizabeth Gilbert's 2006 travel memoir, "Eat, Pray, Love: One Woman's Search for Everything Across Italy, India and Indonesia", with Roberts starring as the author.

Bosses at DC Comics have stepped up their fight to retain control of "Superman". They have filed suit against the lawyer representing the heirs of the character's co-creators in a bid to scupper their copyright claim.

The estate of artist Joseph Shuster is battling to regain copyright of the comic strip character in 2013, when DC Comics and Warner Bros. are expected to lose control of the rights. Lawyer Marc Toberoff, who succeeded in returning part of the copyright to the heirs of writer Jerome Siegel in 2008 and 2009, is representing the Shuster clan - but he has been rocked by a lawsuit from DC Comics bosses alleging he is trying to profit from the case.

Ten tracks are confirmed to be included in Selena Gomez's upcoming studio album "A Year Without Rain". One of them is titled "Live Like There's No Tomorrow" which also serves as a soundtrack for her movie "Ramona and Beezus".

"Titanic" director James Cameron spent his birthday underwater on Monday, August 16 - he dived to the bottom of the world's deepest lake in Russia. The moviemaker turned 56 on Monday and made the day even more special by teaming up with the Fund for Protection of Lake Baikal to embark on a mission below the surface.

Cameron, who is a deep-sea diving pioneer, spent more than three hours exploring underwater and took soil samples from the bottom of the lake as part of the organization's ongoing conservation work. Deputy head of the company Inna Krylova says, "He is delighted. He would really like to continue research."

Fans no longer have to speculate if Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are dating or not as the long rumored lovers were caught lip locking in Montreal, Canada where Kristen is filming "On the Road". In the pictures obtained by Celebuzz, Kristen is seen putting her arms around Robert's shoulder while the two smooched.

After readmitted to UCLA Ronald Reagan Medical Center in Los Angeles on Friday, August 13, Zsa Zsa Gabor has asked to return to her Bel Air home, her publicist John Blanchette said on Monday, August 16 as ABC News reported. Blanchette revealed that Gabor declined to undergo any more surgery and asked to spend her final days at her residence.

Blanchette further stated that doctors wanted to conduct a surgery on her liver that would give her a 50-50 chance survival rate. However, both Gabor and her husband Prince Frederic von Anhalt decided "she wanted to spend her final days at home." The publicist added, "Frederick said he did not want to torture her anymore."

Unlike the first teaser which highlights the search of new creatures, the newly debuted video focuses more on the thrilling moments as two people arrive in an area populated with the creatures, which are still unseen in the new teaser, during their way through an infected zone in Mexico.

Six years ago NASA discovered the possibility of alien life within our solar system. A probe was launched to collect samples, but crashed upon re-entry over Central America. Soon after, new life form began to appear and half of Mexico was quarantined as an infected zone. The film will center its story on a U.S. journalist who agrees to escort a shaken tourist through the infected zone in Mexico to the safety of the U.S. border.

Michael Douglas has been diagnosed with a tumor in his throat, his rep confirmed to People. According to the rep, Douglas' doctors expect the 65-year-old actor to make a full recovery soon after completing eight weeks of treatment, which includes radiation and chemotherapy.

Douglas himself is being positive about his battle with the disease. The husband of Catherine Zeta-Jones said in a statement, "I am very optimistic."

German pop star Nadja Benaissa wept on Monday, August 16 as she admitted deliberately keeping her HIV infection a secret from three lovers. The "No Angels" singer is accused of having unprotected sex with the men without warning them she had caught the deadly virus. One of them was allegedly infected by Benaissa.

She was arrested in April last year and spent 10 days behind bars before being released. She was later charged with aggravated assault, and attended a court in Darmstadt, near Frankfurt on Monday to stand trial. As Benaissa wept in the courtroom, the judge heard a written statement from the singer in which she admitted sleeping with the men without telling them she was infected - because she wanted to protect her career with the girlband.

The founder of a South Dakota music festival has denied reports Axl Rose was to blame for the delayed start of Guns N' Roses' set on Friday night, August 13, insisting an equipment fault was the cause. The rockers were due to take to the stage at the Rock 'N Rev festival late on Friday, but their start time was pushed back until almost 1am on Saturday morning, August 14.

Several fans walked out of the venue in disgust, with many blaming Rose - who is notorious for showing up late for gigs - for the delay. But festival organizer Dan Catullo is adamant Rose was a consummate professional and a technical fault was to blame.

Mel Gibson has escaped a car accident uninjured. According to Los Angeles Times, the 54-year-old actor lost control of his Maserati sports car and ended up striking a hillside on Malibu Canyon Road on Monday, August 16 at around 8:35 P.M.
