Fellow Celebs Pay Tribute to Gary Coleman at Dinner

Gary Coleman's friends gathered in Los Angeles on Monday, July 12 to honor the late actor's memory with a dinner. Coleman's "Diff'rent Strokes" co-star Todd Bridges was among the guests who gathered at Beverly Hills restaurant Il Cielo for the memorial, organized by the former child star's pals.

Around 30 people were said to have showed up to tell "fun stories" about Coleman and indulge in his favorite foods, including mini burgers made of Kobe beef, reports TMZ.com.

Speaking to the BBC ahead of Sunday's final between Spain and the Netherlands, which the rocker attended, he fired off about Wayne Rooney and Frank Lampard, Jr. He said, "He (Rooney) played like he's been hypnotized in the tunnel before and somebody had whispered in his ear, 'See the round thing, when you get out there, you'll never have seen one of them before and you won't know what to do with it'."

Defense Attorney Believes Lindsay Lohan Doesn't Have Awareness of What Will Befall Her

Defense attorney Stuart V. Goldberg has spoken of his worries for Lindsay Lohan, insisting the jail-bound actress lacks "awareness" of the "urgency" of her dire situation. Goldberg was contacted by the "Mean Girls" star after her lawyer Shawn Chapman Holley attempted to resign last week, on July 8, and held a six-hour meeting with Lohan, her mum and teen sister Ali Lohan in Hollywood to discuss her case.

The legal eagle, who ultimately turned down the case, admits the Lohans "didn't seem to understand the urgency and gravity" of the situation, prompting Goldberg's fears for the actress. He tells People, "My impression of Lindsay is that she's a fragile lost child - a sleeping beauty with her head in the sand. I found her not fully forewarned of the consequence of her actions."

'Die Hard' Director Enters Guilty Plea to Lying to FBI, Facing a Year Behind Bars

"Die Hard" director John McTiernan is facing a year behind bars after pleading guilty to lying to authorities investigating Hollywood private detective Anthony Pellicano in a wiretapping case. On Monday, July 12, the filmmaker entered his plea to two charges of making false statements to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and one allegation of perjury for lying to a federal judge.

McTiernan's lawyer S. Todd Neal argues that the FBI "ambushed" McTiernan in a bid to get answers. Neal tells the Associated Press, "We continue to believe that the charges against him were developed in an unfair way. The FBI should not be in the business of ambushing citizens with surprise phone calls in which they ask 'questions' for which they already know the answers."

Sir Paul McCartney has claimed a victory over fast food giant McDonald's after bosses removed the singer's photo from one of their restaurants. The Beatles legend, a long-time vegetarian, was furious after learning pictures of him and his Beatles bandmates had been put up in a McDonald's restaurant in the Fab Four's hometown of Liverpool, England.

More than a dozen shots of McCartney and the Beatles were said to have been plastered on the walls of the Sefton Street burger joint. They have now been removed, according to Britain's Daily Star newspaper.

A judge has reportedly denied a request from Melissa Etheridge's ex to be granted $25,000 in their split - after ruling the singer is already paying for her expenses. Tammy Lynn Michaels has accused her former partner of leaving her penniless and struggling to afford necessities following their split last year.

Michaels' attorney wanted the court to order the "Come to My Window" hitmaker to pay the actress $25,000, on top of another $25,000 for legal fees. But a Los Angeles County Superior Court judge has turned down the demand after the star's lawyer, Neal Hersh, proved Etheridge was giving Michaels $2,000 a month for bills, housing, food and care for their three-year-old twins.

"American Beauty" star Wes Bentley is facing fresh financial woes - U.S. officials are chasing him for alleged tax debts. The actor is said to owe as much as $204,000 in delinquent and federal taxes, according to records obtained by the Detroit News.

Internal Revenue Service bosses filed a $125,617 lien against Bentley and his estranged wife Jennifer Quanz in Los Angeles on March 23. And last year, California officials submitted two separate liens against the couple - a demand for $49,079 was filed in L.A. in March, while another $29,187 lien was lodged in December.

Jonas Brothers and Demi Lovato to Kick Off 2010 US Open

Despite breaking up, Joe Jonas and Demi Lovato will be seen together a lot in the future. In addition to touring together with "Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam" cast this summer, the middle of the Jonas Brothers and his ex-girlfriend have also been billed to perform in several major events. Along with the other Jonas boys, they were most recently tapped to sing at the kick-off concert of 2010 US Open.

The Disney stars are going to perform at the US Opener, Arthur Ashe Kids' Day presented by Hess on Saturday, August 28. Allstar Weekend, Alexis Jordan and School Gyrls are scheduled to perform as well. Nick Cannon additionally is set to make a special guest appearance, while Adrienne Bailon and Quddus will share the hosting duty.
