And staff quickly caught on that the youngster was trying to carve out a career as a pop star, according to their notes from 1961 to 1964. One note states, "He does not want shift work but I believe the reason for his not liking shifts is because he is a member of a vocal group which is supposedly an amateur affair."

Slash has axed plans to release his collaboration with Ozzy Osbourne as the first single from his solo album - to avoid clashing with the Prince of Darkness' new material. The Velvet Revolver guitarist recruited a number of stars, including Stacy Ferguson aka Fergie and Kid Rock, to lend their vocals to his first solo effort, "Slash", and had picked "Crucify the Dead", a track with Osbourne, as his debut release.

British pop star Robbie Williams has come under fire from campaigners for championing marijuana as a "lovely" drug. The "Millennium" hitmaker, who has struggled with substance abuse problems in the past, admitted he gained several pounds while smoking cannabis, but branded the drug "lovely".

An emotional Marie Osmond paid tribute to her adopted son and his birth mother as the teen was laid to rest on Monday, March 8. Jeremy Renner's long-distance romance wilted while he was filming "The Hurt Locker" in Jordan - the desert temperatures were so brutal, the star couldn't bear to talk to his girlfriend on the phone. The actor struggled in the searing desert heat during the three months he spent filming the gritty war drama, which scooped six Oscars on Sunday, March 7.

And Renner was so exhausted after daily shoots, he didn't have the energy to call his lover back home. He recalls, "I was in a relationship at the time and, oh my goodness, it was torture. Tragic "Growing Pains" star Andrew Koenig's life was celebrated by family and friends at an emotional memorial service on Saturday, March 6. Former "Star Trek" actor Walter Koenig and his wife Judy invited approximately 100 loved ones to the Inn of the Seventh Ray in Topanga Canyon, California, where they held a private ceremony for their son.

The 41-year-old actor was found dead in a Canadian park in an apparent suicide last month, February 10, after going missing. Walter's rep David Moss tells E! News, "It was a celebration of life. All of the family was there and a lot of his actor friends and filmmakers flew down and joined in. It was not all happiness, I must say. There was a lot of sadness, but there were some very nice high points."

Rockers the Foo Fighters have ended their hiatus after landing the chance to work with Nirvana producer Butch Vig in the studio. Frontman Dave Grohl has abandoned his plans to concentrate on other projects after getting the opportunity to reteam with the mastermind behind the iconic "Nevermind" album.

As a result, Foo Fighters' seventh album will mark the 20th anniversary of Nirvana's "Nevermind", which Vig produced in 1991. Grohl reveals he and Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins have already started work on the band's new material and work on the new album started on Monday, March 8 in the frontman's garage recording studio. Grohl tells Rolling Stone, "I think this could be our heaviest album yet."

Hitmaker Jason Derulo has found a pop mentor in Lady GaGa after she took him aside before a tour date and told him he was "special". The singer recently completed his first tour as the "Poker Face" star's support act - and he insists he couldn't have had a better starting point and a better person to hit the road with.

Rapper Snoop Dogg is set to show off his comedic skills this spring, in a U.S. tour featuring funnyman Mike Epps. The hip-hop star and Epps will combine their stand-up and stage shows for a limited run tour called Imagine That!, which will tell the story of two jailed night-club performers trying to break out of prison.

Epps tells AllHipHop.com, "This is an incredible opportunity to combine our similar, but different worlds of entertainment together on stage for the first time." Snoop Dogg adds, "We've worked together in the past on some projects and knew that our audiences would love to see us bring Hip-Hop music and Hip-Hop comedy together on stage."

DreamWorks SKG has given another preview to "She's Out of My League" by outing a new age-restricted clip. Miller.

During an interview with the Advocate, Sean Hayes has disclosed about the nature of his sexuality. Responding to speculations suggesting that he is gay, the actor who played gay Jack McFarland in "Will & Grace" stated, "I am who I am. I was never in, as they say. Never."

Hayes is known for his repeated refusals to expose his sexuality. On his decision to keep silent, he explained, "I believe that nobody owes anything to anybody." He added, "You are your authentic self to whom and when you choose to be, and if you don't know somebody, then why would you explain to them how you live your life?"

Quirky rockers The Flaming Lips are planning another movie adventure after their 2008 film "Christmas on Mars" became a hit among fans - and they want Justin Timberlake to star in it. The group are hoping to turn family members and friends into stars by recruiting them for their latest film project, which will be filmed in and around the band's native Oklahoma City.

But frontman Wayne Coyne admits he's keen to land a few big stars as well. He tells Billboard, "I'm in the process of begging Justin Timberlake to be part of it; if I'm lucky I'll be able to wear him down in another year."

Travis McCoy has a brand new solo single titled "Billionaire" coming out for listening pleasure. Debuted online on MTV.com, the track is confirmed to serve as the lead single from his forthcoming debut album "Lazarus".

"It's me talking about what would happen if I would somehow manage to become a billionaire. What would I do with the money?" he explained to MTV about what he wants to tell in the song. "Don't get it wrong, I'm far from a billionaire."

After taking a temporary hiatus to give their vocalist/bassist Adam Yauch time to undergo a tumor surgery and then recuperate, Beastie Boys will soon make their comeback. "I feel better," Adam told Entertainment Weekly at the recent Film Independent Spirit Awards. "It was touch and go there for a while, but I am finally getting my energy back."

He continued by suggesting when the band will release their new album "Hot Sauce Committee Part.1" which was forced to be delayed following the hiatus. "We may or may not [release the album] depending on how my health is come September," he stated.

The depicter of Bruno, Sacha Baron Cohen, could change his quirky costumes with all-black outfits. After wrapping production for Walt Disney Pictures' drama "The Last Song", Liam Hemsworth is set to jump into an action adventure movie "Arabian Nights". According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Australian actor is currently in negotiations to join the cast for the Inferno Entertainment's upcoming project which is planned to be made into 3-D movie.

Hemsworth is reportedly offered the lead role of a commander who joins forces with Sinbad, Aladdin, Ali Baba and the Genie from the magic lamp to rescue Queen Scheherazade after his king is murdered. The film will be directed by Chuck Russell and is planned to kick off production in the end of summer.

The first look of Sheryl Crow as Grayson's new girlfriend on "Cougar Town" has been shared through a few promotional pictures. The singer will have her episode aired on March 24 in the episode called "Turn This Car Around".

Nick Jonas is confirmed to collaborate with his fellow Hollywood Records' artist Jordan Pruitt. "The Amazing @nickjonas is singing on my recorded version of #dontloseyourself !Can't wait for you to hear it!!!" she wrote on her Twitter.

British rockers Radiohead have blasted rumors they recently wrapped recording a new album - insisting they have no new music. Online gossips claimed the Grammy winners were adding finishing touches to a new release called "Tehrangeles", a follow up to their 2007 album "In Rainbows".

The rumors were fueled by guitarist Ed O'Brien, who recently told fans, "I am so genuinely excited about what we're doing, but for obvious reasons I can't divulge anything more. Anyway, we all love surprises don't we?" But the band insists the gossip is all a hoax and there'll be no new music in 2010. In a statement released to NME, they insist, "Most of it is made up and there is no album or album title."

After a fresh photo of Lady GaGa performing a dance routine, two other brand new images from the highly-anticipated music video emerge. Unlike the previous pic, these new ones focus on Beyonce Knowles.

After debuting a new trailer for "Iron Man 2", Paramount Pictures has provided other sneak peeks to the film by releasing a theater standee, two character posters and one still which highlight Tony Stark/Iron Man and his buddy Colonel James "Rhodey" Rhodes/War Machine. Both characters are featured wearing their armors in all shots and captured individually in the one-sheets.

Lily Allen broke down in tears and fled the stage during a concert on Sunday night, March 7 - after a brawl broke out among fans. The "Smile" hitmaker was performing at London's O2 Arena as part of her tour with rapper Dizzee Rascal when two men in the audience began fighting.

Radiohead's bassist Colin Greenwood has paid tribute to late Sparklehorse's star Mark Linkous - thanking the singer-songwriter for his "beautiful music". 47-year-old Linkous was found dead on Saturday, March 6 in an alleyway outside a friend's home in Knoxville, Tennessee, according to the New York Times.

He had reportedly shot himself in the heart. Greenwood, who befriended Linkous when he toured with Radiohead under his Sparklehorse moniker in the mid-90s, has written of his sadness at the tragedy.

Alicia Keys' music video for her single "Put It in a Love Song" reportedly has got pushed back. After rumored to make its debut Monday, March 8, the Beyonce Knowles-featuring video is said to come out next week, March 17.

Another source, Alicia Keys France fan site, claims the singer's French label confirmed it will be unveiled in mid April. In the meantime, the video which is directed by Melina Matsoukas and filmed in the Rio de Janeiro slum area reportedly is still in the editing room.

Felicia Day is cast as the lead character of SyFy's re-imagining of "Little Red Riding Hood". The cable announced that the "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" alumna will portray a werewolf-hunting descendant of Little Red Riding Hood in the TV movie called "Red (2011)" which will debut next year.

According to the press release, SyFy's version will be the twisted story of the classic fairy tale. Day stars as Red who brings her fiance home to meet the family and learn about the business of hunting werewolves. "He's skeptical until bitten by a werewolf. When her family insists he must be killed, Red tries saving him," the synopsis is read. Beside Day, the film is also starring Kavan Smith and Stephen McHattie.

Documentary filmmaker Roger Ross Williams felt like Taylor Swift at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards when his former producer stole his spotlight at the Oscars on Sunday, March 7. Audience members at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood and viewers around the world were puzzled when Elinor Burkett joined Williams onstage and pushed him aside as he started his Best Documentary Short acceptance speech.

Stunned Williams admits he was too shocked to do anything, but now insists Burkett should never have been there after removing her name from the credits of the film following a bust-up over the film "Music by Prudence". Japanese authorities are fuming after Louie Psihoyos and Ric O'Barry's expose about the slaughter of dolphins won the Best Documentary Oscar at Sunday's, March 7, Academy Awards. "The Cove" follows a group of activists as they struggle with police and fishermen to gain access to a secluded cove in Taiji, southern Japan, where dolphins are hunted.

The film beat out competition to win the Best Documentary prize, but less than 24 hours after the filmmakers lifted their Oscars, Taiji mayor Kazutaka Sangen has responded with a statement, dismissing the film and accusing Psihoyos and O'Barry of disrespecting Japanese customs.

Just as fellow rapper Lil Wayne headed up to jail on March 8, T.I. announces his comeback by releasing a post-prison single "I'm Back". The new material becomes his first release since leaving the facility and moving to a halfway house in December last year.

The brand's owner Asim Abdullah tells Women's Wear Daily, "She's not involved in this collection." He refused to expand on his comments. After receiving critics from some celebrities for snubbing Farrah Fawcett from the "In Memoriam" tribute, the Academy has spoken up and offered their explanation. Speaking on behalf of the show bosses, Oscars executive director Bruce Davis claims it is impossible to include every star who died last year in the montage.

"It is the single most troubling element of the Oscar show every year," Davis states, defending their decision. "Because more people die each year than can possibly be included in that segment. You are dropping people who the public knows. It's just not comfortable."

James Cameron is glad Oscar bosses didn't penalize Kathryn Bigelow's Academy Award-winning movie "The Hurt Locker" after one of the producers was caught campaigning for votes - calling the incident a "dumb mistake". Nicolas Chartier was left red-faced after he emailed colleagues urging them to vote for the gritty war movie in the Best Picture category before the ballot closed on March 2.

He was banned from attending Sunday night's, March 7 star-studded ceremony, but the embarrassing incident failed to curb "The Hurt Locker" 's Oscar success - the movie landed six honors including Best Picture and Best Director for Bigelow.

Teairra Mari has debuted a music video filmed to support her latest single "Sponsor" which sees her grinding on Soulja Boy. The video was filmed in an L.A. mansion Tuesday, February 23 and features a cameo from Rev Run's daughter Vanessa Simmons. Gucci Mane who is featured on the hook along with Soulja doesn't have a part in the video because he is currently staying behind the bars.

Rapper Lil Wayne has begun a year-long prison term after a string of delays postponed his sentencing for weapons possession, stemming from a 2007 arrest. The "Lollipop" hitmaker, real name Dwayne Carter, pleaded guilty in 2009 to attempted criminal possession of a weapon, and admitted having a loaded 40-caliber semiautomatic gun on his tour bus.

He was initially expected to be sentenced to a year behind bars in February, but he was granted a postponement to undergo dental surgery. The hearing was delayed again on March 2, after a blaze in the basement of the courthouse forced officials to evacuate the building and close it down for the rest of the day.

During "Good Morning America" Monday, March 8 telecast, ABC announced that Brooke Burke is the new co-host of "Dancing with the Stars". Burke won the run to be the replacement of Samantha Harris who quit in January to focus on other projects.

"Brooke Burke is my new co-host as Samantha Harris has gone on to more of her responsibilities at The Insider and [Entertainment Tonight]," the show's host Tom Bergeron announced. Burke will begin her new duty on March 22 when the show premieres the tenth season.

Marie Osmond's tragic son Michael Blosil has been laid to rest in a private memorial in his home state of Utah. The 18-year-old, who was adopted as a baby by the singer and her ex-husband Brian Blosil, was found dead outside his apartment building in Los Angeles on February 26.

Police believe he fell 15 storeys after jumping from a roof or balcony of the building. His death is being treated as a suicide. Blosil's grieving friends and family gathered at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Chapel in Provo on Monday, March 8 to pay their last respects to the teenager.

Paul Greengrass has indeed announced that he has parted ways with "Bourne 4", but the helmer apparently still has his heart set on the franchise. Speaking to IGN, he admitted that Universal Pictures should make another "Bourne" film and he would love to be involved in the project but it all depends on the studio's decision.

"They need to make one," Greengrass stated, before adding "And I wish them nothing but success in the future and if they want me to be involved in some way then I will, if they want to do a prequel or whatever, but as far as I know nothing is decided and it's not my business."

Those demanding to see Betty White hosting "Saturday Night Live" have just got their wish come true. The former Golden Girl has personally confirmed to People that she will be heading to the variety show although no date is set yet.

During the Elton John's Oscars after party on Sunday, March 7, White said "yes" when People asked her whether she's doing "SNL". She however, did not go further as revealing the details and the date, simply saying "I don't know why or how, but it's been wonderful."

Another picture taken from Lady GaGa's "Telephone" video shoot has been unleashed. Making its way out via VEVO blog, this snap is similar to one of the previously-released pictures. Wearing a yellow wig, the singer performs a dance routine with several dancers.

"Telephone" music video is directed by Jonas Akerlund and will feature GaGa's collaborator Beyonce Knowles. It is scheduled to arrive this coming Thursday, March 11 at 11:30 P.M. ET on E! News and is going to follow the dance queen when she is staying in jail before then rescued by Beyonce.
