The singer-turned-actress is currently appearing as Roxie Hart in the New York production but she will hang up her dancing shoes next month, in February, to make way for ex-Destiny's Child star Michelle Williams (II).

And Simpson is looking forward to her hiatus - so she can spend more time with Bronx Mowgli, her one-year-old son with Fall Out Boy rocker Pete Wentz. She tells Access Hollywood, "We'll see what's next, but I'm gonna have some mommy time and take a little break."

Black Eyed Peas are facing another plagiarism lawsuit - a musician alleges the group's hit "Boom Boom Pow" is "virtually identical" to her own song. Phoenix Phenom, along with associate Manfred Mohr, has filed a copyright infringement case against the band, alleging the rhythm and lyrics from her track "Boom Dynamite" were copied in the Black Eyed Peas' 2009 global hit.

Phenom - real name Ebony Latrice Batts - claims she submitted "Boom Dynamite" to executives at Interscope Records, the Black Eyed Peas' record label, according to gossip blogger Perez Hilton. An attorney for Phenom and Mohr says, "My clients submitted their copyrighted song 'Boom Dynamite' to Interscope Records after Interscope had shown interest in some of their music, and the Black Eyed Peas later copied the song when they wrote 'Boom Boom Pow'."

Curvy actress Sofia Vergara's mum made the actress swear not to have her huge breasts reduced to land more film roles. The Colombian pin-up, who briefly dated Tom Cruise, was advised to cut a few breast sizes if she wanted to be taken seriously as an actress at the beginning of her career. She says, "They thought I was too much."

But it only took a call home to help Vergara make up her mind and decide to keep her busty look. She explains, "My mum was like, 'God is going to punish you if you take your t**s off'."

Prankster George Clooney struck again at the 67th Annual Golden Globe Awards, sending his "Up in the Air" writer/director Jason Reitman into a panic when the filmmaker thought he'd lost his award for Best Screenplay/Motion Picture. Clooney is renowned for playing jokes on his movie crew and castmates but decided to behave himself while shooting Reitman's award-winning drama, in which he stars as a corporate downsizer.

Reitman admits he was surprised to have escaped the actor's pranks on set - but he soon realized he had become another one of Clooney's victims at the January 17 awards show when his Golden Globe went missing.

Russell Crowe has spoken out about Sienna Miller's dismissal from new movie "Robin Hood" - insisting he had nothing to do with the decision. Miller was originally signed on to play Maid Marian, but she mysteriously left the project in 2009 amid rumors she had been dropped because she was too young to play 45-year-old Crowe's love interest.

Cate Blanchett, 40, was later drafted in to take her place in the film, which is due for release later this year, in May. Now the film's star Crowe insists he played no part in axing Miller, while defending Blanchett's performance in the upcoming film.

Ageing teen sensations Rob Lowe and James Van Der Beek are at odds over a baseball clash after the former "West Wing" star accused the ex-"Dawson's Creek" lead of lying about a catch on U.S. TV. The two actors were on opposite sides in an all-star celebrity game in 2004 at Dodgers Stadium in Los Angeles when Lowe hit what he thought was a sensational home run, only to watch Van Der Beek fly through the air, crash through a barrier and rob him of glory in front of his children, who were cheering their dad on.

Van Der Beek concedes he should have let the ball go, but he's upset that disappointed Lowe went on national TV and accused him of cheating. He says, "Rob went on 'The Tonight Show' and said that I didn't catch the ball, that it was rolling around on the ground, that I lied about catching it."

Susan Boyle's idol Elaine Paige has branded the Scottish singer "a virus", attributing the star's success to the clip-sharing website YouTube.com. The "I Dreamed a Dream" hitmaker became an overnight success last year after a clip of her singing "I Dreamed a Dream" at an audition on "Britain's Got Talent" was uploaded to the site. Boyle gained millions of fans around the world after she was thrust into the spotlight, and even fulfilled a lifelong ambition by singing a duet with her hero Paige last year on U.K. TV.

But Paige isn't convinced Boyle has what it takes to have a lasting career in the music industry. She says, "I don't particularly feel any pride for her - I'm sure she is proud of what she has done. It's all about turning someone into an immediate celebrity at the expense of longevity and working hard and experience. Susan Boyle is doing terribly well considering she literally came to the attention of the world with the advent of YouTube. She was like a virus really that spread across the world in a nanosecond. She is a girl with no experience of anything to do with theatrics, the music business, or art in any way."

"Gossip Girl" hunk Chace Crawford is dating "Watchmen" star Malin Akerman's sister, according to U.S. reports. The actor, who briefly dated country star Carrie Underwood, has been spotted at parties with model Jennifer Akerman.

A source tells In Touch magazine, "They've known each other for a while, but now it looks like they're dating... Jennifer is adorable and exactly his type."

Taylor Swift has shattered Britney Spears' first-week download record after fans raced to get hold of her new single "Today Was a Fairytale". The country music sensation now holds the record for the best download debut by a female artist after the new song was picked up 325,000 times in the past week - 39,000 more than Spears' "Womanizer" in 2008.

Billboard chart compilers at Nielsen SoundScan have confirmed the tune from the singer's new film "Valentine's Day" will be Swift's first number one on the Digital Songs countdown; it will also debut at two on the Billboard Hot 100. Both charts will officially be released on Thursday, January 28.

After being known for his roles in several romantic and musical films, Zac Efron has landed his first action thriller project. The 22-year-old actor is set to star in "Fire", which is a movie adaptation of a graphic novel by Brian Michael Bendis that was published by Image Comics.

In "Fire", Efron will tackle the role of a college student who "is recruited by the CIA, only to find that he has been trained for a program that creates expendable agents." The "High School Musical" hunk additionally will serve as executive producer alongside his manager Jason Barrett.

Joe Jonas has made amends with ex-girlfriend Taylor Swift, confessing the couple "recently reconnected" - more than a year after she publicly chastised him for dumping her over the phone. The Jonas Brothers singer dated Swift for several months in 2008 but their break-up was far from amicable - the country sensation went on national TV in the U.S. in November that year and blasted Jonas for the 27-second chat, which ended their relationship.

Swift even used the heartbreak as inspiration for her song "Forever & Always". But Jonas insists the former couple is back on friendly terms - and he's rooting for Swift to claim gold at Sunday's, January 31, Grammy Awards.

Bar Refaeli, aka the supermodel who steals Leonardo DiCaprio's heart, is featured in the new ads by Rampage, wearing a set of sexy clothes and swimsuits. The Israeli-born model has been the face of the clothing company for two years and this time around, she is modeling the spring collection that includes a two piece bikini and a one-shoulder top with short.

Actress Susan Sarandon stunned fans of rockers Of Montreal at a concert in New York on Tuesday night, January 26, by spanking a man dressed up as a pig onstage. The Oscar winner strided out from the wings at the Highline Ballroom gig, bent a masked man over her knee and started pretending to beat him with a ruler.

Sarandon said nothing but wagged her finger at fans before walking off. She appeared again later in the show and showered the audience with multi-colored streamers, according to RoillingStone.

R&B superstar Alicia Keys is set to give her next album a new twist - she wants to rock out with the Kings of Leon. The "No One" hitmaker recently enjoyed chart success with Jay-Z, collaborating with him on their hit song "Empire State of Mind", and now she's eager to try a new sound; she's eyeing collaborations with the "Sex On Fire" rockers and singer/songwriter M.I.A.

She says, "Working with other people is definitely something I want to do more of. I love it a lot. It takes me out of my element into a whole other world. I'd love to collaborate with Kings of Leon and M.I.A. I think would be crazy."

Jane Lynch will live out a childhood fantasy in front of U.S. TV audiences in late 2010 - the actress has signed on to perform her version of Madonna's dance hit "Vogue" on hit show "Glee". Lynch will put her pop star skills to the test when she sings the 1990 track in character as her coach character Sue Sylvester in an upcoming episode.

And the 49-year-old confesses Madonna has been her idol for the last three decades. She says, "I've just been kind of up on Madonna these days. I'm loving her. I grew up in the '80s, so she provided the soundtrack to my life." The actress' tribute will feature as part of an all-Madonna music "Glee" episode.

British rockers Muse are set to reveal all about life on the road in a new tour documentary. The "Uprising" hitmakers have released DVDs of their gigs in the past, but have taken inspiration from a behind-the-scenes film about Nirvana on tour to open up even further.

Bassist Chris Wolstenholme says, "We'd like to do something a little bit more along the lines of a touring documentary as opposed to just a live gig this time. Something a little bit more like Nirvana's Live! Tonight! Sold Out!"

More and more stars are recruited to glitter the Staples Center's stage of the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards on January 31. The latest celebrities scheduled to announce winners of the Sunday event are singer Jennifer Lopez and rapper Eminem.

In addition to handing out award, Eminem is also set to make a special performance with Lil Wayne, Travis Barker and Drake. In the presenters ensemble meanwhile, Robert Downey Jr., Keith Urban, Stephen Colbert, Chris O'Donnell, Kaley Cuoco, Simon Baker and Ryan Seacrest have been added to the line-up.

Jason Mesnick will prove to public that his choice was right. The season 13 contestant of "The Bachelor" is to walk down the isle for the second time, marrying his final choice Molly Malaney in March. The wedding will be televised on ABC in a special called "The Bachelor: Jason and Molly's Wedding".

Jason created a controversy back in the show when he broke up with fiancee Melissa Rycroft on air to be with Molly. The father of one proposed to Molly in October 2009 and she accepted. Jason was previously married before finding love in "The Bachelorette" where he got rejected by DeAnna Pappas.

Harrison Ford has little recollection of his stint behind the camera at the beginning of his film career - because he spent the time on the road with "The Doors". The movie star was a camera assistant on a never-released documentary about the iconic rock act, and he wishes he could remember more about the experience.

He says, "I was on the road with The Doors. I barely remember anything... I'm quite sure there was nothing in focus." Ford admits he was "a child of the Sixties" long before he became a serious film star. He adds, "I had actually been to the Monterey Pop Festival... I was at the first Human Be-In... I've seen it all."

Miley Cyrus and Demi Moore may team up in "L.O.L.: Laughing Out Loud". Variety has just reported that the Disney star and the 47-year-old actress are currently in negotiation with Mandate International to star in the remake of the French film of the same name.

The story will follow a 15-year-old girl who, dumped by her more sexually experienced boyfriend, sets her sights on his best friend. At the same time, her 40-year-old divorcee mother is struggling to move on with her life. The fraught relationship between mother and daughter provides the film with its narrative backbone, along with the younger generation's obsession with instant messaging. In the French version, the daughter and mother roles are played by Christa Theret and Sophie Marceau.

Michael Douglas' actor son Cameron has pleaded guilty to trafficking large quantities of methamphetamine and cocaine. Cameron Douglas was arrested in August 2009 after a drugs raid on his room at New York's Hotel Gansevoort.

He was taken into custody on suspicion of possessing methamphetamines with intent to distribute and originally put under house arrest. But the 31 year old was thrown in jail after his girlfriend allegedly tried to smuggle heroin to him in an electric toothbrush.

Kasabian frontman Tom Meighan has urged Oasis singer Liam Gallagher to dump his bandmates and launch a solo career. Gallagher is adamant the Britpop stars will continue to record and play live despite his guitarist brother Noel Gallagher walking out on the band in 2009.

But fellow rocker Meighan, who is pals with both brothers, has advised Liam Gallagher to split the group for good - because it's "not Oasis" with Noel absent from the line-up. He tells British rock magazine Q, "I think Liam should go it alone. It's not Oasis without Noel, and I think they'd both agree with that. Did I see it coming? No, I can't say I did."

Three categories from the 45th Annual Academy of Country Music (ACM) Awards have been unveiled. Luke Bryan and Jamey Johnson are set to face against Chris Young for Top New Solo Vocalist, a category which replaced the separate Male and Female Vocalist field of previous years.

Furthermore, Joey and Rory are nominated in Top New Vocal Duo, competing against Bomshel and Steel Magnolia. Meanwhile, Eli Young Band are up against Gloriana and The Lost Trailers for Top New Vocal Group.

Rocker Sting has proved his marriage to Trudie Styler is still hot 17 years later - the couple turned heads during a steamy night out in New York this week. The 58-year-old hitmaker has claimed to enjoy epic bouts of tantric sex with Styler and took his beloved to Manhattan nightclub Avenue twice in one week to put on a more public display.

The judges got a tough contestant early in the audition. Julie Kevelighan tried out in the first season of "American Idol" but was plain bad. She went for a second chance this year but was equally bad. Problem was, she won't stop at singing one song even though the judges have said no several times. Security had to walk her out of the room and once she's out there, she blamed her breathing technique.

Two days shy of its U.S. release, the cast and crew for "When in Rome" visited California to hold world premiere for the film. On Wednesday, January 27, a fake yellow car was put in front of El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood where most of the guests stopped to pose for the cameras.

British actress Billie Piper was bedbound following the birth of her son by emergency Cesarean - and she's sure the time helped her bond with little Winston. The "Secret Diary of a Call Girl" star and her husband Laurence Fox welcomed the tot in October 2008.

From the Red Carpet to the Dark Side of Celebrity, is being held to mark the 21st anniversary of entertainment news and photo agency World Entertainment News Network.

Snapped! showcases shots from the past two decades, including Lady GaGa with British monarch Queen Elizabeth II and Madonna in Malawi with her adopted son David Banda. The collection is also raising money for charity - all proceeds from the sales of prints will be donated to Concern Worldwide's Haitian earthquake relief efforts.

A music video shot to promote Usher's new single "Hey Daddy (Daddy's Home)" has made its way out in full. Debuted via MTV, it shows him rehearsing some moves with the ladies. Playing as his love interest is model Noemie Lenoir and serving behind the lens is Chris Robinson.

"Hey Daddy" features Plies who is nowhere to be seen on the video. The single is going to appear in Usher's sixth studio album "Raymond vs. Raymond" which reportedly is due for March 30 U.S. release.

Quite contrary to rumor suggesting Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie will soon split, the two were said enjoying quality time together the night the report sparked. Trying to slam the report, a source told People, "Angie and Brad were actually out to dinner together in Los Angeles when the rumor broke."

The insider continued to add, "That's how ridiculous [the story] is." The site claimed Pitt and Jolie are currently spending time in Los Angeles with their children, 8-year-old Maddox, 6-year-old Pax, 5-year-old Zahara, 3 year-old Shiloh, and their 18-month twins, Vivienne and Knox.

John Travolta will be forced to relive the painful memories of his son's death for a second time in September 2010, when the actor's extortion case returns to court for a retrial. Former Bahamas senator Pleasant Bridgewater and paramedic Tarino Lightbourne have been charged with conspiracy to extort $25 million from the actor and his wife Kelly Preston after their 16-year-old son Jett suffered a fatal seizure at the family's holiday home there in January 2009.

The allegations center around a Refusal of Treatment/Transportation form, signed by Travolta, which the suspects allegedly threatened to release to the media. In October 2009, Senior Justice Anita Allen declared a mistrial after a jury member reportedly leaked the verdict to politicians. Singer Ke$ha is convinced she's "haunted" - because she is visited by a scary ghost in her dreams every night. The party-loving singer admits she's reluctant to purchase a home and settle down in case the property she picks is visited by the spirit who spooks her nightly.

"Nurse Jackie", pill-popping nurse who juggles double persona in the hospital and back at home, will be back for a second season on March 22 on Showtime. A brief look at how she would continue hiding her secret from the rest of her co-workers after Eddie found out about her being married, is given in a new trailer.

The promo actually is a mash up of scenes from the first season and the new one. Another fund-raising event to support the victims of Haitian earthquake has been staged. This time, organizers for the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards have booked Mary J. Blige to make a duet performance with Andrea Bocelli and sing "Bridge Over Troubled Water" for the cause.

Their performance will then be made available for download following the telecast with all proceeds going to American Red Cross. In addition to benefiting the relief effort, it also marks the 40th anniversary of Simon & Garfunkel's classic song receiving Grammy trophies for Record of the Year, Album of the Year and Song of the Year.

Helen Mirren is convinced expectant parents James McAvoy and Anne-Marie Duff will have a musical baby - because both stars have "beautiful singing voices". The couple announced on Tuesday, January 26, they're set to welcome their first child - and their "The Last Station" co-star Mirren can't wait to see the couple become parents.

Speaking about the pregnancy at the drama's London premiere on Tuesday, Mirren said, "It's great. James is a new friend, Anne-Marie is an old friend. I did a play with Anne-Marie quite a few years ago and understood right there and then what a great actress she is. I met James just on this film and quietly fell in love with him, so it couldn't be better. You just can't believe how happy they are together. They are so grounded."

Troubled rocker Pete Doherty has been ordered to pay a fine after he was caught carrying heroin into a U.K. court in December 2009. The Babyshambles frontman landed himself in trouble after he was frisked by guards on his way into Gloucester Crown Court for sentencing over a series of driving offenses.

Security staff saw a small packet fall out of his coat and the star was arrested in the corridor on his way out. His lawyer argued at Gloucester Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, January 27 that Doherty had forgotten the 13 wraps of heroin were in the jacket - but the judge branded it a "stupid" move.

Less than a week before it is made available for purchase, Nick Jonas' debut album "Who I Am", which is recorded with his side project The Administration, is brought forward for free stream. All the 10 tracks, including a cover version of Jonas Brothers' hit single "Tonight", have been outed.

"Who I Am" is actually going to be released in the United States on February 2. The lead single which is its title track has been showcased live at the December 22 Grammy Nominations concert, followed with the premiere of its music video later on.

Katy Perry has come up with a proposal for FOX to hire her as the permanent judge of "American Idol". The singer who sat as a guest judge during Los Angeles audition told MTV, "The 'American Idol' experience was awesome. If I was offered that job as a permanent host, I would ditch my career and take on that career."

Jokingly saying that she made some people cry during the selection, Perry said, "It's kind of like judging a talent show. 'American Idol' was great fun. It was so easy." She added, "I didn't really make anybody cry, but I did tell the truth to some kids that might have needed to hear it."

Michelle Williams snubbed a screening of her movie "Blue Valentine" at the Sundance Film Festival - because her daughter Matilda Rose Ledger is too young to watch her steamy sex scenes. The actress shares several intimate moments with Ryan Gosling in the upcoming drama, which she has been busy promoting at the film event in Utah.

But when it came time to sit down and watch the film, Williams kept out of the cinema for the sake of Matilda, her four-year-old daughter with the late Heath Ledger. She tells MTV.com, "When the movie screened the other day, me and the kid, neither of us were old enough to watch that movie. So we colored in Tinker Bell pictures for two hours and played pirate games."

Following speculation about whether or not the Hulk will be part of "The Avengers", it has been reported that the giant superhero will indeed make appearance in the movie. Being interviewed for the March issue of SFX Magazine, Marvel Studios' President of Production Kevin Feige confirmed this line-up.

"It's three people - four including the Hulk; five including Nick Fury - who you've seen before in other movies, coming together for the very first time," Feige said. Meanwhile, on the possibility of Edward Norton reprising the role he played in "The Incredible Hulk" for the upcoming movie, the key person of Marvel Studios stated, "It's certainly our intention to use the same actors from film to film where we can."

Matt Dillon finds it strange watching his breakthrough performance in 1983 movie "The Outsiders", because he was barely even an adult when he filmed the scenes. Dillon was 18 when he shot his part as a young troublemaker in the film, which also launched the careers of Tom Cruise and Patrick Swayze.

And the 45 year old struggles to comprehend he ever starred in the movie, as it seems a lifetime ago. He tells Total Film magazine, "It's actually very weird for me to see those films now. And the further I get away from them the stranger it is because I was a f**king kid, man, a little kid."

Sugababes star Amelle Berrabah has dismissed reports she's partying too hard following her stint in a European clinic for exhaustion last year. The "Push the Button" hitmaker was spotted out in London with bandmate Jade Ewen and Girls Aloud star Sarah Harding on two separate occasions over the weekend, January 23-24.

It prompted speculation Berrabah was overdoing it following her October 2009 treatment for nervous exhaustion, but the 25 year old is adamant she is fine. She says, "I just read something in the papers about me saying that people were worried about me going out too much! I've been out twice in once week and the second one was Jade's birthday."

Like what was previously predicted, all-star "Hope for Haiti" album indeed enters at No. 1 on Billboard Hot 200 this week. It has been downloaded over 171,000 copies, becoming the first digital effort to reign the U.S. albums chart since its nearly 54-year history.

"Hope for Haiti" album features songs from the likes of Beyonce Knowles, Rihanna, Madonna, Christina Aguilera, Justin Timberlake and Jay-Z among others. Outed in online stores on January 27, it becomes the biggest one-day album pre-order in iTunes history.

Before she gets to be a cafeteria lady on "Glee", Jennifer Lopez will stop by "How I Met Your Mother" first as a men handler. The CBS show will have the singer in an episode airing this March to play Anita Appleby, a no-nonsense author of self-help books that teach women how to train men into relationship machines through the power of denial.

There is a rumor going around that Alicia Keys is engaged to music producer Swizz Beatz. She reportedly received the marriage proposal in time for her recent 29th birthday on Monday, January 25. According to Us Magazine, Beatz presented her with a 7-carat ring right before her big day.

Although a rep for Keys has denied that the singer is engaged, the mentioned bling was spotted on Keys' left hand while the couple was strolling on a Hawaiian beach on January 24. Us Mag quoted a so-called 'friend' as saying, "They are currently in Hawaii celebrating the engagement and her birthday. She feels blessed. She is thrilled. She is with the man who has inspired so much of her music and her new album [The Element of Freedom]."

Amanda Seyfried nearly turned down her risque role in movie "Chloe" - because the part required her to appear naked onscreen. The 24-year-old star plays the title role in the 2009 film, in which she shares a kiss with actress Julianne Moore - but admits she had to think twice before accepting the job and baring all.
