Al Pacino's '88 Minutes' Trailer Comes Out

TriStar Pictures has released the trailer of their latest drama thriller "88 Minutes". The trailer gives out glimpses from the film slated to be released to theaters on April 18, 2008.

The trailer begins with the ringing of Dr. Jack Gramm's cellphone. When Gramm answers the phone, a man directly said, "You have 88 minutes to live." The scene then flashes back to the case he was working on. The trailer lets out scenes in which he uses his skills and training to narrow down the possible suspects.

Bobby V to Perform at 1st Caribbean Urban Music Awards

Bobby V, Sizzla and Collie Buddz will highlight the very first Caribbean Urban Music Awards. The award that will unite all the Islands of the Caribbean, launches in Jamaica on April 26, 2008 on the prestigious James Bond Beach in Ochios Rios, Jamaica.

The CUMA is part of one of the biggest international awards ceremonies, Urban Music Awards. "As one of the biggest international Music Awards ceremonies, we are proud to launch the Caribbean Urban Music Awards for the first time annually in the Jamaica. We plan to make this a people's choice awards ceremony which will serve to promote Caribbean music and artists internationally to millions of homes like never before," said Chris Mitchell, Marketing Manager of Invincible Media Group & Urban Music Awards.

'Smart People' Trailer Let Out

After clips of the Noam Murro directed-drama comedy hit the net, Miramax Films let out the official trailer of "Smart People". The video footage that last about two-and-a-half minutes picks up the theme stating "sometimes the smartest people have the most to learn".

The trailer starts with the central character professor Lawrence Wetherhold telling her daughter, Vanessa, about him being called self-absorbed. Innocently, his daughter commented that the self-absorbed title is "underrated". Then, the video continues to describe Wetherhold followed by a call to Vanessa from hospital in which sick Wetherhold met Janet, his doctor as well as former student.

Miley Cyrus 'Upset' With Fake Essay to Win Her Tickets

Miley Cyrus finally speaks out about one of the many eccentric ways people do to get the tickets to her show. The teen singer confessed that she is "upset" that the winner of a contest to win her tickets earlier this month was a faker.

A mother of Hannah Montana fan submitted an essay as part of a contest to win tickets to a sold-out show that also includes a make over and an all-expense paid trip. Priscilla Ceballos faked a story for her daughter Alexis, telling that the girl's father had been killed in Iraq while in fact the mentioned person was not even recorded in the Department of Defense data.

'Saw IV' Key Cast Back for the Fifth Film

Rumored to be returning in "Saw V" earlier, the joining of the three original actors from "Saw" franchise has been confirmed. According to IGN.com, the "Saw IV" actors, Tobin Bell, Scott Patterson, and Costas Mandylor, are going to reprise their role in the fifth installment of the horror thriller.

In the movie directed by David Hackl, Bell is set to depict the film's pivotal character Jigsaw for the fifth time, while Patterson is back as FBI Agent Strahm and Mandylor plays police detective Hoffman. Mandylor joined the film franchise in "Saw III", while Patterson appeared in the film series for the first time in "Saw IV".

Marking the first anniversary of her mother Marcheline Bertrand's death, Angelina Jolie is planning to hold a day-long vigil and make a sizable donation to the Los Angeles hospital where the late actress lost her battle to ovarian cancer.

Jolie, who's been reported pregnant with twins, was left devastated when her mother Marcheline passed away at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center on January 27, 2007 at 56 because of ovarian cancer.

Felony Drug and Weapons Charges Officially Filed Against Lil Wayne

Lil Wayne was formally charged on Friday, January 25 with one count each of possession of a narcotic drug for sale, possession of dangerous drugs, misconduct involving weapons and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia.

The rapper was in justice court in Wellton, Arizona that day for a scheduled hearing related to his arrest on Tuesday night, January 22 for felony drug possession after Border Patrol officers allegedly found marijuana, cocaine and ecstasy in his tour bus after the vehicle was pulled over for a routine check.

'Choke' to Come in Theaters in August 2008

Bought by Fox Searchlight for $5 million earlier this week, it is said that "Choke" is going to hit the theaters this summer. According to SlashFilm.com, the studio has announced the release date of the Clark Gregg directed-film, which is going to be on August 1, 2008.

Adapted from Chuck Palahniuk's novel, Choke is a dark comedy film starring Sam Rockwell, Anjelica Huston, Kelly Macdonald and Brad William Henke. The film tells the story about sex addict Victor Mancini who fakes choking in restaurants to parasitically attach himself to his wealthy saviors.

Nas NOT Dropped by Label, 'Nigger' Sticks to Schedule

A representative from Def Jam has slammed the rumor that Nas will be kicked out of the label if he insists on having his upcoming album titled 'Nigger'. The rep dismissed the issue saying, "That is absolutely ridiculous and untrue".

With the denial on the false report, the rep also said that Nas' album release will stick to the schedule, which is February. The rapper wanted the album to be dropped in coincidence to Black History month.

'Star Trek' First Trailer to Be Released Summer 2008

On Friday, January 25, while the sci-fi film's team, including the cast and crew sat down with TrekMovie.com to have a chat with the fans, it was revealed that the first movie trailer of "Star Trek" is reportedly going to be outed in theaters in summer. The news was let out by Bryan Burk, the movie executive producer, when answering a fan question.

On the special occasion, Burk revealed the good news saying, "Barring any thievery from our production office, we're working on our first trailer right now, which will hopefully be in theaters early to mid summer." Meanwhile, on the film's wrap date, J.J. Abrams exposed that the film is scheduled to take the principal photography until early April.

The two songs have been said to have different sound with one leaning on funky rhythm and the other on "fierce ballad". Gnarls reportedly favored more on the latter which has the lyrics "Who's gonna save my soul now? / I know I'm out of control" and been confirmed by Billboard.com to have made the cut.

To ComingSoon.net, the husband of "Desperate Housewives" star Felicity Huffman revealed a little information about his upcoming project "Wild Hogs 2".

When asked about the sequel of the big grossing film, the Emmy Award-winning actor said that the filmmakers and the actors are talking about the possibility. He then exposed that in the second installment his character is going to marry his love interest Maggie, saying "Apparently Dudley, the character I play, is going to get married to Marissa Tomei and the boys try to take him out on one last trip. Garth Brooks has confirmed that he won't have anymore public appearances after the charity concert to help raising fund for California wildfires ends. The country singer who announced a retirement in 2001, specially agreed to help the good cause but vows to retire for good.

Brooks took the stage for two nationally televised concert at Los Angeles' Staples Center yesterday (January 25) and will perform other three today (January 26). The concerts which is broadcast on CBS encouraged people to call in and donate for the fire victims and firefighters. When the tickets were sold on December 1, organizers said that it was a sold out under one hour.

The Teaser Trailer of Thai Remake Horror 'Shutter' Hits Online

The teaser trailer of the 2004 Thai film remake "Shutter" has made its online premiere through MTV's site on Friday, January 25. The less-than-two-minutes video footage gives out scary insight into the film scheduled to hit theaters on March 21.

Unlike many other horror film's teasers which shows nothing but flash cutting of the film, this teaser is pretty much hair-raising as it displays photos containing spirit and also chronicles the death of the people pictured with the spirit. One of the pictures shows two Asian girls accompanied by the spirit beside them, then it is explained that one week later, the girls mysteriously died. Another gives the sight of the hands of the spirit chocking a woman. The information that follows stated that the woman died in her sleep the night after the picture taken.

John Rich, one part of country duo Big & Rich, is taking sometime off from the band to record a solo album. Details on the album are still scarce but it is known that a lead single is scheduled for a Summer release.

Apparently, Rich decided to keep the creative juice flowing while his singing partner, Big Kenny is recovering from his injury that resulted from a car accident few years ago. "If anyone knows me, they know I'm always writing music," said the singer who is also assisting Jessica Simpson and Jewel Kilcher on their first country albums.

Heath Ledger's Body Taken Out of Funeral Home

Heath Ledger's body was on Friday afternoon, January 25 taken out of the Frank E. Campbell Funeral Home in New York City reportedly to be en routed to an unspecified airport where the actor's body would then be flown back to his hometown of Perth, Australia.

None of Heath's family was seen on the scene as a large pine coffin carrying Heath's body was loaded into a Cadillac hearse to be transported to a local-area airport a little before 4 P.M.
