Christopher McQuarrie Stranded in "No Man's Land"

Seems to have no space to take a break in writing scripts, Christopher McQuarrie has directly moved from his stint in "Valkyrie" to pen for a WWI drama entitled "No Man's Land", Variety has reported.

Set up as a co-production between 2929 Productions and Spitfire Pictures, the battlefield drama revolves around three characters consisting of an American ambulance driver living in France, a British soldier wrongly accused of cowardice, and a German soldier mired in the trenches.

Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer picture
It is already less than a month before moviegoers can see "Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer" grace the big screen this summer and so, no wonder promotions on the flick are being carried out on the fast track now, which sure will bring great amount of delight to the superhero fans.

In the follow-up to the four TV spots for the movie aired on NBC yesterday, May 21 during the season finale of sci-fi drama series "Heroes", the network has launched a mini site for the superhero flick online at it's "Heroes" site featuring all the clips shown.

Revealing the first look of its ambitious project "The Golden Compass", New Line Cinema has brought up to the surface a teaser trailer for the fantasy adventure on the web.

Placed at Yahoo! Movies in High Definition QuickTime format, the clip starts out with a ring falling through mid-air which then transforms into a compass, along the way showing stunning visual effects while introducing the viewers glimpses of the film's impressive cast.

Yolanda Adams Doing X'mas Album with Columbia

In what has become the perfect timing, gospel singer Yolanda Adams has signed a deal with Columbia Records to do a holiday album this year. The Grammy award-winning singer is currently in Houston working on the songs so that they will be ready for Oct 16 release.

"Yolanda Adams is truly the 'first lady of modern gospel' and we are proud to have her on the Columbia Records roster," said Steve Barnett, Chairman, Columbia Records. "Her pioneering blend of R&B, pop and gospel continues to inspire her fans and transform the musical landscape. Set to present a touching tale of loyalty and faithfulness, Richard Gere has given his commitment to both star in and produce a dramatic feature titled "Hachiko: A Dog's Story" which will be developed under Inferno Entertainment.

Inspired by the 1987 Japanese film "Hachiko monogatari" made based on a true story happened in Tokyo, Japan, the project will find the actor portray a college professor who takes in a dog he finds abandoned. Both man and hound gradually find their lives changed as an unbreakable bond between them is formed.

Grammy winning songwriter Jesse Harris has compiled a list of soundtracks that will be performed by artists like Norah Jones, Cat Power, Bright Eyes, Black Keys, Emmylou Harris and Willie Nelson.

The record that earmarks all of the music in support of Ethan Hawke-directed movie "The Hottest State" will arrive August 7 via Hickory Records.

Gerard Butler Honored at the 2007 Taurus World Stunt Awards

Already announced to be the Action Movie Star of the Year last month, Gerard Butler finally can bring the prize home as he was officially bestowed the title at the ceremony of this year's Taurus World Stunt Awards held Sunday, May 20.

Named so for conducting many of his own stunts in epic saga "300", the actor received the trophy from the hands of fellow thesp Dennis Hopper, who described Butler's role as King Leonidas in the flick to be a "powerful, flesh-and-blood performance combined with brilliantly aggressive, athletic stuntwork."

Foo Fighters Re-releases "The Colour and the Shape"

Foo Fighters' second album "The Colour and the Shape" will be available in a double disc version on July 10 via Legacy/RCA. The album that hit stores for the first time in 1997 is re-released to celebrate its 10th anniversary.

While the original record is still left as it is in the first disc, the second one will hold the covers of Gary Numan's 1979 hit "Down in the Park", Killing Joke's "Requiem" and the band's second cover of Gerry Rafferty's "Baker Street". There will also be the inclusion of the B-sides of tracks "Dear Lover" and "The Colour and the Shape".

The 2007 MTV Movie Awards Presenters List Growing

Taking the second round in submitting big names for the presenters of its upcoming MTV Movie Awards, MTV has unveiled yesterday, May 21, the additional lineup of the list that has already included the likes of Jessica Alba, Samuel L. Jackson, and Amanda Bynes in.

This time, more female celebrities are submitted as Cameron Diaz, Lindsay Lohan, Victoria Adams, Mandy Moore, and Jessica Biel are all given slots along with John Krasinski, Robin Williams, Justin Long, and Bruce Willis. For Adams, the event thus will mark her first official television appearance since her decision to settle in the U.S. to follow husband David Beckham, who is slated to play in MLS for Los Angeles Galaxy this summer.

Several rumors after, Spice Girls are again reported reuniting, this time for a single. It turns out the Christmas thing that erupted last month indeed has something true as some of the girls are spotted back to the studio for UK Christmas number one.

Emma Bunton and Geri Haliwell were seen leaving a Brighton recording studio and could hardly contain their joy by hugging and laughing. Paparazzi even managed to catch the moment after the two walked out of their old producer, Richard Stannard's house for a session. A source claimed "It's phenomenal news for them, and the girls are really excited."

311 is back on the saddle with a new record and a series of performances. Revealing on recent interview, vocalist Nick Hexum said that the band, which is known very experimental in its genre, records this one 'back' to their usual rock sound. He also made sure that this one would not repeat the same mistake 2005's "Don't Tread on Me" did.

"I would say we kind of go through a general cycle of making a more straight ahead album that comes quickly and then we kind of rotate to more of a departure where we take a longer time making the album and inventing more new styles," Hexum said.

The revival, to be directed by Debbie Allen, was slated to open later this year but was pushed back to accommodate Beyonce's schedule as producers want a bigger name than Broadway star Audra McDonald who is said to have agreed to play Maggie.

Finally get chance to appear together on the big screen, Hollywood couple Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn have come onboard to topline an Aramid Entertainment-financed comedic feature entitled "Ashes to Ashes" that also marks Hawn's feature directorial debut.

Flick will focus on a woman who travels through India to Kathmandu to bury her husband's ashes but loses them along the way. Handling producing matters are Michel Shane and Anthony Romano, who both previously executive produced 20th Century Fox's sci-fi actioner "I, Robot."

Giving it a go, Screen Gems is on the track to develop a movie titled "The Maintenance Man" from Michael Baisden's best-selling novel of the same name telling about a gigolo in existential crisis, Variety has learned.

Story centers on a handsome Julliard graduate who puts his aspirations for a music career on the backburner after he becomes a male prostitute who makes a fortune as the hired companion of married women. Baisden, host of the ABC Radio Network show "Love, Lust and Lies," covered all of those bases in his novel, which instantly became a bestseller after he self-published it in 1999.

Sylvester Stallone Convicted, Fined on Hormones Charge

Hollywood action star Sylvester Stallone was convicted for bringing muscle-amping hormones into Australia earlier this year and thus was ordered to pay nearly A$13,000 (US$10,690) in fines and costs.

New South Wales state Deputy Chief Magistrate Paul Cloran said the 60-year-old actor did not have a valid prescription for dozens of vials of human growth hormone found in his luggage when he visited Sydney in February on a promotional tour.

Former Creed Frontman Scott Stapp Arrested for Domestic Violence

Scott Stapp, Creed former frontman, was arrested Sunday May 20th at his home in Boca Raton, Florida, and charged with assault related to domestic violence, stemmed from an apparent confrontation with his wife, former Miss New York Jaclyn Nesheiwat.

Speaking on the unfortunate, a sheriff spokesman explained, Stapp returned to his residence at about 8 a.m. after a long night of partying and was confronted by wife Jaclyn who began quizzing him on where he'd been. At that point, he became defensive and the couple started arguing.

Rapper Nelly to Host MTV's South African "Pimp My Ride"

The St. Louis rapper is in talks for another deal besides that he signed with South African based distributor Mojalife to distribute his Vokal, Applebottom and Pimp Juice brands. The star is in negotiation to host a localized version of MTV's hit series "Pimp My Ride."

On that new project, it is said that their first deal has led Mojalife to in succession reach a deal with UK-based Screen Ventures and MTV Networks to produce 52 episodes of "Pimp My Ride," with Nelly planned as the host.
