Pete Doherty Comes After Babyshambles

Babyshambles' frontman Pete Doherty has completed a solo acoustic record ahead of the project that is going on with his band. Pete's solo record though is the readier piece, will be released the end of this year after the band's new album is out.

As part of Parlophone artist, Pete has to take the decision from the label. A source from Parlophone said, "We're really keen to release Pete's acoustic record at some point in the future but not until after the next Babyshambles album, that will come out first."

Beyonce Knowles' B'Day Back Minus One

Following the retraction of B'Day [Deluxe Edition] from the market, Beyonce Knowles' team decided to re-release the album without the problematic track.

Des'ree's claimed hit "Still in Love (Kissing You)" has been removed from the track list and so does its clip from video outlets. The digital download of "B'Day [Deluxe Edition]" has been affected as well following the clearance of the song's copyright.

The Kopelsons Transported into "Otherworld"

Choosing a seemingly promising material to hit hard the film industry, Kopelson Entertainment partners Arnold and Anne Kopelson are both set to develop a fantasy feature entitled "Otherworld" under their company banner.

Project turns out to be a big screen adaptation of the Michael Scott's upcoming book which will be a contemporary fantasy dealing with ancient demons unleashed by global warming. This is not the first time the Irish author had his work adapted to movie as New Line Cinema has already been on the move to make "The Immortal Nicholas Flamel" based on his forthcoming novel scheduled to hit U.S. stores on May 22 this year.

Following her being absent from music industry, Cher is making a surprise comeback, as a Barbie doll.

Dolls of the singer-actress-songwriter, one will wear the leotard she wore in the 1989 "Turn Back Time" video while the other wears the outfit she wore in her 1973 hit "Half-Breed," are created by Barbie creators Mattel, Inc.

Jarvis Cocker Hurls Legends for Meltdown

Pulp's Jarvis Cocker who acts as this year's Meltdown festival artistic director has succeeded convincing legends to appear at the event. Among people infused to appear are Motorhead, Melanie Safka, Devo, The Jesus and Mary Chain, Iggy Pop and The Stooges.

Motorhead will get a head start in the kick off gig on June 16 at Royal Festival Hall together with Melanie. For the latter, this would be her first British gig in 30 years. Devo will get its turn on June 19 while The Stooges and The Jesus and Mary Chain will be playing June 20 and 21 respectively.

Columbia Doing "The Swap"

Keen to continue providing laughs for moviegoers, Columbia Pictures is on the move to make a new comedic feature entitled "The Swap" based on Antony Moore's upcoming novel of the same name of which screen rights it has successfully acquired.

Set to be produced by John Calley, the project is said to present a story about an out-of-shape comic book dealer whose feelings of inadequacy flare up when he is invited to his high school reunion with murder, romance, and the revelation of a long-held secret ensuing.

Justin Timberlake Planning to Step Away from Spotlight to Write Music for Other Artists

Becoming a household name because of his singing career, Justin Timberlake is considering another profession. The pop singer has been intended to put the brake on his solo career, making music for fellow music stars in turn.

Thereby joining the likes of Katherine Heigl, James Marsden, and Malin Akerman, the actor will play the man who becomes the object of affection of Heighl's character but is going to marry her sister instead.

Veteran country mogul Willie Nelson will hold the annual Fourth of July Picnic performance again. This year, he taps his fellow musician mates such as Son Volt, Old 97's, Drive-By Truckers, and Amos Lee.

For the first time, the venue will take place outside Nelson's home state of Texas. To be precise at Gorge Amphitheatre in George, Wash., the same venue that will be used for US Download Festival this August.

Fall Out Boy Raising Awareness for Uganda's Homeless Street Soldiers

Watch out guys, Fall Out Boy is out in action. The music act took part in an event aimed at raising awareness for Uganda's homeless street soldiers by sleeping on the streets.

The band joined more than 67,000 young activists in Los Angeles on Saturday April 28th, slept in impromptu villages made of cardboard with only crackers and water for supplies.

Looking for a fresh face to be featured in their project, filmmakers of "Kit Kittredge: An American Girl Mystery" are going to hold open casting calls at American Girl Place retail stores in three U.S. cities of Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York on May 7, 8, and 14, respectively, president of Picturehouse and HBO Films Bob Berney and Colin Callender have announced.

Calls are open to all girls of age eight to twelve who must be available for filming in Toronto, Canada from May 29 up to July 13, 2007. Complete information on the audition can be viewed at American Girl's official site where applicants can obtain release forms and audition scripts among others.

After announcing the names of honorees, VH1 Rock Honors gives away the list of performers on the May 12 night. The second year will feature Queens of the Stone Age, Alice in Chains, Nickelback, Keane and also Gretchen Wilson as the tribute artists.

The order of honors will go as follow: Queens of the Stone Age for Ozzy Osbourne, Nickelback for ZZ Top, Gretchen Wilson and Alice in Chains for Heart, and Keane for Genesis. Surrounded by the crowds of screaming fans, the actors walked down the black carpet, instead of red, seemingly got overwhelmed by the excitement and hysteria from the people coming down to attend the event.

Modest Mouse Brings the Heat to US' Download Fest

In the third cycle, U.S. version of U.K's Download Festival will present Modest Mouse as one of the headliners. Taking place at Tweeter Center, Boston starting from August 18, the festival will also feature Incubus, The Shins and Wolf Parade as the sidekicks band.

The Live Nation-owned festival will take more than the usual three-day course. There will be venues at Gorge Amphitheatre in George, Wash. on August 25, at the Alpine Valley Music Theatre in East Troy, Wis. on Sept. 1 and also at the Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, Calif. on Oct. 6. More dates are following to be announced this month. Tickets to these shows will go on sale beginning June.

Three-gigs tickets to M+M's band shows that start tonight in San Diego have been snapped despite the report that she pulled the one in Los Angeles last Wednesday. Her other two rumored gigs will be May 3's night in Anaheim and the next day in West Hollywood.

In the midst of horror and grief upon Virginia Tech incident last month, singer R. Kelly showed his concern through a song titled "Rise Up". The hope-lifting tune is available for download starting from May 15 and all of the profit will be earmarked to Hokie Spirit Memorial Fund.

The singer came out with the song after watching the coverage of the shooting on TV. Written within the lyrics was the verse "We'll fight this together, we'll be strong together, stand together, pray together. Rise up, when you feel you can't go on, rise up, and all of your hope is gone, rise up, when you're weak and you can't be strong, rise up." The clip can be seen here.

Lupe Fiasco is back in the studio to begin the process of sophomore set. In the weight of three Grammy nominations that entailed the first album "Food and Liquor", the rapper hopes that "The Cool" would work out well.
