Hollywood Actresses Fight for Jeannie's Part

At least three capable actresses are competing to get the role of Jeannie in the upcoming movie adaptation of TV series "I Dream of Jeannie." They are Jennifer Garner, Kate Hudson and Lindsay Lohan. The three of them will try their best to win the role in the comedy fantasy to be directed by Gurinder Chada.

To your notice, Keira Knightley and Jessica Simpson were among the favorites to land the role. Unfortunately, they didn't make it.

The adventure - fantasy flick, tentatively titled "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire," gloriously grossed $101.4 million in its debut weekend, to be the best movie in the box office of USA for November 18th to November 20th, 2005 period.

"The Potter franchise is just irresistible to moviegoers," so Paul Dergarabedian, president of box-office tracker Exhibitor Relations commented. "The combination of the Potter books and the love audiences have for the movies conspired a big opening weekend." In fact, Harry Potter really does the magic tricks on the box office. And it is a big success.

David Bowie Joining the Prestige Cast

Music is interesting. But, movie also is challenging. Thus rock star David Bowie is joining the cast of "The Prestige," which already include the likes of Hugh Jackman, Christian Bale and Michael Caine.

"The Prestige" is a drama action genre which script is being worked by film director Christopher Nolan. Based on Christopher Priest's 1996 novel and was adapted by Nolan's brother, Jonathan Nolan, who also wrote the short story on which Nolan's breakout movie, "Memento" was based, the film is scheduled to shoot in January with a budget of $40 million range.

Anyway, "Employee of the Month" is a comedy film of the Lions Gate, which Gregory Coolidge will direct from his won script. The story of the flick, which is scheduled for a spring start date, begins when hearing that the story hottie will date the employee of the month, two slacker Costco workers vie for the honor.

What a girl wants finally is found by Christina Aguilera in her beau Jordan Bratman. The music mogul is the one and only for her and they have changed the vows in a Saturday evening ceremony at Staglin Family Vineyard in northern California's Napa Valley.

A source told Us Weekly that Aguilera, her hair decorated in jewels and pulled back in a bun topped by white flowers, walked down the aisle in a Christian Lacroix gown. The twosome exchanged rings in front of about 130 guests. It's the first marriage to either one. Finally, the Genie in the Bottle goes bridal.

Aussie pop superstar Kylie Minogue is to release her new single, which will mark her first after she was diagnosed with breast cancer in May this year. The singer reportedly will release a live version of "Somewhere Over The Rainbow," recorded at London's Earl's Court earlier this year.

The download single will be accompanied by Kylie's version of "Santa Baby." Besides, the singer also will release eight other live downloads, including "Better The Devil You Know," "What Do I Have To Do?," "Spinning Around," "Slow," "Red Blooded Woman/Where The Wild Roses Grow," "I Believe In You," "Can't Get You Out Of My Head," and "Love At First Sight."

Judge Lets Rocker Love Leave Drug Rehab Center

The troubled rocker has been ordered to leave drug rehab center by a Los Angeles judge on Friday for an outpatient program.

Love, who was ordered into the treatment center earlier this year for 180 days after she admitted in August she had used drugs, a violation of her probation, is considered to progressing well and that's impress Superior Court Judge Rand Rubin for sure. "You're doing really well. I'm really pleased with the reports," Rubin told the 41-year-old singer during a hearing. "I certainly hope you keep up the good progress. You're definitely going in the right direction."

Judge Sentenced Crowe to a Conditional Discharge

Russell Crowe. The actor has been pleaded guilty to third-degree assault Friday, stemming from the throwing telephone incident happened June this year. At that time, Crowe was charged with second-degree assault after throwing a telephone at Nestor Estrada, an employee at Manhattan's Mercer Hotel, when he failed to get a phone connection to wife Danielle Spencer in Australia.

And so, attending the 20 minute hearing, Manhattan Criminal Court Judge Kathryn Freed sentenced Crowe to a conditional discharge, in which he must behave himself for a year--or at least avoid arrest--or else face jail time. The movie star reportedly has to pay $160 fine and a six-figure sum to the hotel worker he threw a telephone at in order to escape jail.

DMX Gets Xtra Jail Time

Rapper DMX gets an extra. A plus. But, this isn't in positive ways. The star, whose real name is Earl Simmons, was sentenced to a 70-day in prison, Friday November 18, for violating his parole and being late to court, an action which was considered by a New York judge that he hadn't shown respect for the court.

On Friday, the rapper apologized to the judge for his lateness the day before, saying that he had an asthma attack and producing a doctor's note. Though, Judge Dorothy Chin-Brandt was very upset to him because of his consistent failure to comply with her rules and regulations. "She said his whole attitude has been terrible and one of disregard," DMX's lawyer, Murray Richman said.
