Carpenter Voyage to "Mars"

The of Mexican and Cherokee descent American actress Charisma Carpenter has joined the cast of UPN's mystery drama "Veronica Mars." Also there is Steve Guttenberg, who along with Carpenter will play as recurring characters. Carpenter will appear in at least six episodes, while Guttenberg will appear in at least seven episodes.

Beginning with the show's second-season premiere, Carpenter will play a sexy trophy wife and stepmother to brothers Dick (Ryan Hansen) and Cassidy "Beaver" (Kyle Gallner) Casablancas, two of Veronica's (Kristen Bell) affluent schoolmates. Whereas, Guttenberg will play a charismatic Major League Baseball team owner and leading candidate in the local race for mayor of Neptune, Calif., where the show is set.

Dawson Included in the "Descent"

Not only Rosario Dawson is good at producing movie, but acting as well. Approvingly, she's been approached to star in the psychological thriller "Descent," besides her recent bustle producing the movie written by Brian Priest and Talia Lugacy, who is also producing. Dawson is slated to play the role of Maya, a college student who turns into a vengeful seductress after a shocking act of violence. "Descent" is set for a September release date.

"Friday the 13th" with Maroon 5

In the midst of their bustle crafting new material for its sophomore album for Octone/J Records, Maroon 5 will release their "Friday the 13th -- Live at the Santa Barbara Bowl" CD and DVD September 20 this year. The project is reportedly consisting of previously unreleased songs and a cover of Oasis' "Hello."

Asked about their next album, guitarist James Valentine reveals, "We're kind of re-creating the sort of vibe that we had set up when we were writing the songs to the first record. Where we rented a house and we got some instruments set up." Admitting to have no definite direction for the project has emerged; the band is leaning toward more up-tempo material.

"Mr. A-Z." Is Out

Everyone wants to be better. So does singer-songwriter Jason Mraz. In an attempt to give something better for his fans and to show all he could be and do better, Mraz will have his second album "Mr. A-Z." released July 26. Speaking about his 12-song collection, Mraz claims it representing an artist who is "more comfortable, more confident. Less precious about things."

As for the album, it consisting of potential campfire sing-along "Life Is Wonderful" to the dizzying hip-hop funk of first single "Wordplay." In the meantime, Mraz will headline a North American tour beginning September 20 and will run through the first week of December.

Learning from her past experience, in which her 2002's album titled "Cry" leaked out on the Internet ahead of its official release date, singer Faith Hill and her organization have for now on decided to keep the star's new album under wraps until just before its August 2 release. The album named "Fireflies" is Hill's 6th album and will be released via Warner Bros..

As for this new project, also is expected to be certified platinum just like its predecessors. Containing a mix of musical styles, "Fireflies" provides something to like by both country radio programmers and fans. Moreover, the album also is considered the strongest collection of songs Hill has ever put together.

"Miss Congeniality" Marries "Monster Garage"

What a shocking news in hearing "Miss Congeniality" star Sandra Bullock has married her "Monster Garage" star boyfriend Jesse James, who happens to be five years younger than her. The couple reportedly exchanged vows Saturday in front of several hundred guests at the Folded Hills Ranch in Santa Ynez Valley's wine country.

Attending the ceremony among the 300 friends and family members, like actor William Shatner, actresses Jamie Lee Curtis and Regina King, and Metallica lead singer James Hetfield. The wedding is the first for Bullock and the third for James, who has married twice and has three children. Anyway, congrats for both and hope you all the best.

"Babyface" Is Back

After a quite longtime hiatus, Babyface is now back. Instead of coming back with an empty hand, the already grown up singer has had in hand something special for his fanatics.

Coming back as Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds, the star says, "It means being comfortable with who you are, where you are in your life. That confidence is what makes you sexy. But there's still a certain amount of youth quality to the record." That's how he said explaining the title of his new CD, which is going to be released July 26 via J Records.
