Christina Considers Changing Her Name

Pop singer Christina Aguilera is said to have considered changing her name into Maria Bratman, now that she's the wife of record executive Jordan Bratman. The star once declared in a fancy ceremony at Napa Valley's Auberge Du Soleil resort that she wants to take her husband's name.

She says "I'll probably always be Christina Aguilera professionally, but I'm thinking of changing some legal things and going by my middle name Maria and his last names." Moreover, Aguilera and husband also are thinking about having baby as soon as her hectic schedule allow her. "We definitely, definitely want to have children. I think we will probably start trying when we wrap up my next world tour and I'm very, very excited about that." So the singer revealed.

Moss Dumps Doherty "For Good"

Troubled supermodel Kate Moss is single again after she called it off with boyfriend Pete Doherty. "For good" is the reason cited by Moss' close friends as the reason behind their break up. Really? For sure. She even vowed never to see Pete again.

The decision was made and there they went separate ways. Moss, who was furious in knowing that Pete walked out of drug rehab after only a week, has dumped him is the fact the Babyshambles rocker has to face.

Music Artists Included in Billboard Shortlist

The music competition is getting steamed. The 2005 Billboard Music Awards is coming and here is the list of music artists included in its shortlist.

Up for Artist of the Year are 50 Cent, Mariah Carey, Green Day, Kelly Clarkson. Competing for Group of the Year among others Green Day, Black Eyed Peas, Destiny's Child, and The Killers. Meanwhile, Fantasia Barrino, The Game, Rob Thomas, and Gwen Stefani are all up for New Artist of the Year award.

Mariska Hargitay Expecting First Child

Actress Mariska Hargitay, best known for her performance in "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit," and husband Peter Hermann are expecting their first child together.

"I can confirm that she is expecting," Hargitay's publicist, Erwin More, said briefly. Unfortunately, he provides no other details about the good news.

In recent poll held by The Hollywood Reporter, movie star Julia Roberts proven to be the Highest Paid Actress for the second year straight with a $20 million payment per film.

Nicole Kidman is 2nd, with a $16 million to $17 million per-film price tag, followed by Reese Witherspoon at 3rd and actress-producer Drew Barrymore at 4th, who each commands $15 million per project. Meanwhile the No. 5, No 6 and No. 7 are held by Renee Zellweger, Angelina Jolie and Cameron Diaz, all have salaries estimated between $10 million and $15 million per film.

Kevin Costner's Legal Battle

Kevin Costner has taken legal action against a film production company he claims to have broken an oral agreement to pay him $8m. In his suit, filed at Los Angeles Superior Court, the actor alleges Ascendant Pictures has in December 2004 promised him the money to star in the romantic comedy titled "Taming Ben Taylor."

However, the film was never made and Ascendant Pictures has made no comment concerning the matter. Instead the Beverly Hills company then pulled out of the agreement in June. Thus, Costner is seeking the salary he claims he is owed plus the reimbursement of legal fees.

Tia Carrere Is A First-Time Mother

Soundgarden's Chris Cornell Suing Ex-Wife/Manager

She has ever had a special meaning in his heart. And she has also helped him propelling his career, well at least she's been his manager. But, those apparently do not prevent former Soundgarden lead singer Chris Cornell to sue his ex-wife/former manager Susan J. Silver, seeking for more than $1 million in damages.

In his suit, filed November 28 in California Superior Court in Los Angeles, Cornell claimed that Silver "conspired with other representatives of Soundgarden to direct funds owed to (Cornell)" to other members of the band. Further, he also accused Silver of failing to advise him to "protect his interests in copyrighted musical compositions that were created prior to the marriage."

Joint Masters of Ceremony for the Nobel Concert

Hollywood babes Julianne Moore and Salma Hayek are tapped to team up as the joint Masters of Ceremony for the 2005 Nobel Peace Prize Concert to be held Dec. 11 in Oslo. The twosome has been slated to appear during the event for laureate Mohamed ElBaradei and the International Atomic Energy Agency he leads, organizers said Tuesday.

Joining them as the event MC among others are artists Gladys Knight, Duran Duran and Sugababes. Meanwhile, the likes of Westlife, cellist Yo-Yo Ma, Colombian rock star Juanes and Welsh opera singer Katherine Jenkins are all expected to live up the event.

Ricky Martin Takes Part in Human Trafficking Fight

Latin singer Ricky Martin shows his deep concern towards social matter by willingly joining a U.N.-affiliated migration organization to fight human trafficking in Colombia. "More than half of trafficking victims worldwide are children, forced into pornography, prostitution and labor servitude," he said. "Human trafficking is an unscrupulous market that generates around $10 billion annually."

Thus, to support the organization's program, Martin is slated to appear in TV commercials and provide support through his nonprofit foundation, the Ricky Martin Foundation. Focused on the dangers trafficking poses to Colombian children such as sexual exploitation, the commercials will begin airing next year. In addition to that, the organization also will publicize a new telephone hot line that provides assistance and information about trafficking in the country, the Geneva-based IOM said.

Jennifer Beals Sued for Breach of Contract

Former business manager of actress Jennifer Beals sued the star for breach of contract, claiming she has failed to pay commission on the second and upcoming third season of her Showtime series, "The L Word."

In the lawsuit filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court, Seven Summits Pictures and Management claimed to have already helped the actress get her role on the series and thus deserved for 10 percent commission from subsequent seasons.

Hilary Duff Rockin Dick Clark's "New Year"

Television/music personality Dick Clark missed it last year, but this time he is available to celebrate the significant moment. The New Year. After recovering from a stroke he suffered in early December 2004, Clark is set to be in New York's Times Square to host "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve" Dec. 31 on ABC.

Joining him on the show is New York "American Idol" host Ryan Seacrest. Apart from both, the show will perform its main performer, which is teen star Hilary Duff. The singer/actress will handle Hollywood party segments of the 34th annual special. Also she will perform three songs during the broadcast, which will feature a host of as-yet-unannounced performers.
