The rapper who started off as the CEO of Corporate Thugz Entertainment, has pocketed two solo studio albums under his belt and is now going on the third one. After releasing "The Inspiration" in 2006, Jeezy is back three years later to present "The Recession" on September 2.
"Put On", the album's first single that feature Kanye West, has particularly reached a level of success he wanted. It has peaked at number 12 on Billboard Hot 100 chart. "I reached out to Kanye because my element of it was so street, I wanted to see how he felt, what he felt 'putting on' was. And he went in a totally different direction; he felt like 'putting on' was putting on his homies," he explained.

The scenes from the video starts with a look at the lives of black people in unhealthy neighborhood where crime is a common thing that happened on the streets. Another special feature on the video is when Jeezy was seen rapping the song tunes in front of an American flag.
Rapper Young Jeezy Arrested in Atlanta for DUI
June 19, 2008 09:06:25Adding the long list of the number of hip hop music artists who have a run-in with the law is Young Jeezy. The Georgia rapper was arrested on early Wednesday, June 18 on numerous misdemeanor charges, one of which was driving while under the influence.
The rapper was driving a white Corvette on the ATL's Buford Highway thoroughfare near Interstate 85 when he was pulled over at about 2:30 A.M. for speeding. Police then found out that his car was missing its license plates.

Although the upcoming project will have the same concept, both rappers will be hosting their own separate shows. Game's radio project will be called Black Wall Street Radio and set to debut on June 6 at 8 P.M. and from then on the show will air regularly on Friday at the same time. As for Jeezy, his program is being titled C.T.E. and will be first aired on June 7 at 6 P.M. After that debut, the show is being set to air regularly on Saturday.

Hip-hop crooners Busta Rhymes, Young Jeezy and Eve have joined forces to appear in front of 3,000 volunteers next month. The threesome will be joined by Lil Wayne and Rick Ross to give the volunteers a treat after their goodwill.
The concert will be conducted at Fox Theatre, Atlanta, GA on June 9. The 3,000 volunteers are local youth who join the volunteerism movement called Boost Mobile RockCorps. They were handed with tickets to the exclusive concert after serving 4 hours of community service.

Young Jeezy gets into another trouble. The rapper was arrested following an incident took place Thursday May 24th at a suburban Atlanta strip club.
Explaining on the incident, DeKalb County police spokesman Michael Payne revealed it happened 3 a.m. when "Evidently there was some type of altercation in the club, (and) someone didn't want to leave. It turns out one of the people in the group was Jay Jenkins or Young Jeezy. Evidently he was there with his sister and some friends."

As for the rumor on Coldplay's Chris Martin's involvement in this album, it is confirmed true. His work will be featured in the title track and another song titled "Homecoming". Four other tentative songs are "Stronger", "Can't Tell Me Nothing" (featuring Young Jeezy), "Bittersweet" (featuring John Mayer & Jessica Simpson) and "Once Upon" (featuring Beyonce Knowles).

Radio personality DJ Khaled has set the release date for album "We the Best". The sophomore album will hit the stores by June 12 via Terror Squad/KOCH Records.
Khaled as usual involves many of his artist friends in the making of this record. In the first single "We Takin' Over" alone, there are T.I., Akon, Fat Joe, Rick Ross, Lil Wayne and the rapper Baby to back it. Within a short time, R. Kelly's new album "Double Up" will be out on May 29. It would be his thirteenth studio album and is pretty much star studded.
The first single released is "I'm a Flirt (Remix)" featuring T.I. and T-Pain. Many people are wondering why Bow Wow who has the same track in his album "The Price of Fame" (2006) is not featured in the video. It turns out that Bow Wow's version is a bonus track and its promotion to radios is prohibited. R. Kelly is actually the one who has the song's rights even though in billboard it is listed as 'Bow Wow or R. Kelly (featuring T.I. & T-Pain)'.

The girls rule the week as not only the movie, "Dreamgirls" won triple at the Golden Globes, but also the soundtrack to the hit movie topped the Billboard 200 album chart in the United States in the week ended January 14th. This is the second week in a row that the LP tops the album charts, taking in another 66,000 copies.
On the 2nd spot is Akon's "Konvicted" which remains on that position for a third week with 55,000. Next is Justin Timberlake's "FutureSex/LoveSounds" at the 3rd spot with 51,000 copies, ahead of DAUGHTRY's eponymous album at No. 4 with 50,000 copies. Bow at No. 5 on the chart is the soundtrack to the Disney Channel movie "Jump In!", which taking in 49,000 units.

The Billboard 200 sees the winning of the girls as the Sony soundtrack to the film "Dreamgirls" jumps from No. 3 to No. 1 this week to top the album charts on sales of 66,000 copies in the week ended Sunday January 7th. Though becoming a champ, that total is the lowest sales total for a No. 1 album since Nielsen SoundScan began tracking data in 1991. What a pity.
Hold the No. 2 spot is Akon's "Konvicted" for a second week, taking in another 64,000 units. Following at No. 3 is DAUGHTRY's eponymous album, which bounces from No. 11 with another 56,000 units. Justin Timberlake's "FutureSex/LoveSounds" jumps from No. 8 to No. 4, sold 52,000 units. Scoring the 5th spot is the 23rd volume of "NOW! That's What I Call Music" with 48,000 units more.

R&B singer Omarion leads the last pop album chart for 2006, having his latest LP "21" sold 119,000 copies across the United States in the week ended Dec. 31, such amount that immediately brings the Epic release to the top spot of US pop album charts. This isn't the first time that Omarion leads the Billboard 200 as he previously scored No. 1 album with his 2005 solo debut "O" with 182,000 copies in its first week.
Following him on the 2nd spot is Akon's "Konvicted" which bounces eight places from last week position, taking in another 112,000. The soundtrack for "Dreamgirls" amazingly soars 28 places to No. 3, sold another 104,000 units. Nas' "Hip Hop Is Dead" falls to No. 4 on 101,000. Rounding out the Top 5 on the charts is Young Jeezy's "The Inspiration: Thug Motivation 102" with 92,000 copies.

Young Jeezy's sophomore album, "The Inspiration: Thug Motivation 102", debuted at No. 1 on the U.S. pop album charts Wednesday Dec 20th, selling over 350,000 units in its first week. Thanks to its single "I Luv It" which has entered the Top 10 on the R&B charts and has a successful run in the video market that the LP could reach the top spot on the Billboard 200.
Debut at No. 2 on the chart is Taylor Hicks' self-titled album selling 298,000 copies. Fellow American Idol winner Carrie Underwood, in the meantime, has her LP "Some Hearts" scoring the 6th spot, with another 199,000 copies sold.

This year Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Awards, held Friday September 8th in Atlanta, saw the big winning of Mariah Carey who during the event nabbed five awards all at once. She among others won the category of Top R&B/Hip-Hop Artist, Top R&B/Hip-Hop Artist - Female, Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs Artist, Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Albums Artist, and Top R&B/Hip-Hop Album for her 2005 set "The Emancipation of Mimi".

Prosecutor Audrey Frank told Miami-Dade Circuit Judge David Young at Tuesday's hearing that the state would not pursue two counts of carrying a concealed weapon without a permit against Young Jeezy.

Famous rapper Young Jeezy was arrested early Saturday morning March 11th, 2006 after an alleged shootout in South Beach involving some of his friends. The incident began when on Friday at around 5:30 a.m. Jeezy with a group of men involved in a fight in the 1200 block of Washington Avenue.
In between the happening, a passer-by filming the fight and refused to hand over his video camera. Thus, one of the men in the group began shooting, before shortly thereafter Jeezy and the nine other men left the scene in two sport utility vehicles.
