Video Premiere: Slim Thug's 'Thug'
September 21, 2009 03:09:37Slim Thug is releasing a music video for the single "Thug" which is taken from his March release. The video kicks off with a bell on the front door and Thug peering to see no one is there. Turns out after he opens the door, it's a young fan who is asking for an autograph from the rapper. The fan is rudely turned down.
"Thug" would be the third single lifted from the rapper's second studio album "Boss of All Bosses" which reached No. 15 on Billboard Hot 200. The previous two singles would be "I Run" and "Smile" which were both produced by Jim Jonsin.

March 23, 2009 11:03:14Slim Thug, who gained mainstream attention for his contribution to Mike Jones' 2005 song "Still Tippin'", has finished his recording sessions for his second solo studio album "Boss of All Bosses". He will drop the new effort in U.S. stores on March 24.
Before "Boss of All Bosses" hits the market, a listening party has been exclusively held by MySpace earlier this month. And as of press time, several tracks in the new album, including the first single "I Run", can be streamed for free on his MySpace.

January 17, 2009 11:01:32Slim Thug has released a music video aimed to promote his new single "I Run", which has Jim Jonsin lending his vocals on the hook. The rapper is shot rapping on top of skyscraper with lights from high buildings illuminating the set. Jonsin meanwhile is seen leaning against the wall in what seems to be a hallway.
"I Run" is believed to be a song crafted for Slim Thug's fourth major studio album entitled "Boss of all Bosses". In addition to rumor saying the record will most likely include "I Run", report claims the effort will arrive in U.S. market on March 24 under Koch Records.
Slim Thug Cut Ties With Interscope, to Drop New LP
April 16, 2008 01:04:52Slim Thug is the latest artist to cut ties with the label. The rapper announced through an interview with MTV that he should be off the deal with Interscope/Star Trak Records by the end of this week and will release his new album independently. The Houston native however dismissed any conflict with the label, saying that there was "no hard feelings".
Thug, real name Stayve Jerome Thomas said that the bosses in Interscope heard his pleas for bigger freedom and therefore let him off the hook. "I sat down with the general manager," he said. "Really, I just sat down and told them, 'Y'all over here don't understand the type of music I do, and y'all hold me back while y'all trying to get your situation together. I ain't really got that time to sit on the sideline while you do this. Let me pay y'all. Y'all gave me all this money. Listen, I'll give y'all some money off the new album.'"

Following behind is "Check On It" from Beyonce Knowles featuring Slim Thug while Sean Paul's "Temperature" takes place on number three. "Grillz" by Nelly featuring Paul Wall, Ali, and Gipp comes next on the 4th rank, sitting right in front of Mary J. Blige's "Be Without You" which stays firmly on its last week's position.

UK singles chart again sees the comeback of DJ Meck's dance remix of Leo Sayer's 1977 song "Thunder In My Heart" to its top position. This is the second consecutive week that the song reigning the throne. In the mean time, Notorious B.I.G., Diddy and Nelly also well maintaining their position in 2nd on the chart with their collaboration of "Nasty Girl."
Secures the 3rd rank is The Ordinary Boys' "Boys Will Be Boys," followed close behind by Chris Brown's "Run It" featuring Juelz Santana at No. 4. No. 5 is Liz McClarnon's "Woman In Love/I Get The Sweetest Feeling." Beyonce Knowles' "Check On It" featuring Slim Thug wins the 6th place.

Speak about the new album, Slim claims that it is simply a testament to his independent success instead of the title which maybe sounds arrogant to many. Moreover, "Already Platinum" also includes big-name guest stars, like Lil Jon, Ludacris, and The Neptunes.
