Artist of the Week: Shwayze
August 11, 2008 01:08:10Buzzin' is the perfect word to describe Shwayze. Being the protege of prominent musician Cisco Adler, the rapper makes his name through two successful singles at relatively the same time. By August 2008, two tracks from his upcoming and self-titled debut album have graced the Billboard Hot 200 chart, building pavement to a promising career start.
Shwayze first introduced himself and his distinct style of music through the single "Buzzin'" in May. The single surprisingly generated lots of good response from fans, mainly due to its unique combination of rap and melodic verse, the latter which is supplied by Adler. The alternative hip-hop sound soon became popular among music lovers, especially with the addition of "Corona and Lime".
