July 15, 2009 03:07:16David Arquette and Courteney Cox have officially joined the cast of "Scream 4". After being rumored for several months that the couple will have another encounter with the Ghostface Killer in the newest installment of the horror film series, Arquette has finally confirmed to Marc Malkin from E! Online of their involvement, stating "We are going to be doing 'Scream 4'."
During the interview, Arquette admitted that he is very excited to reprise his role as Deputy Dewey Riley because he and Cox have sweet memory during the shooting of the first movie. "I fell in love with my wife [Courteney] on 'Scream', so the opportunity to bring [Dewey] back to life and for my wife to play that really bitchy character again, it's just going to be really fun. It's just great," he admitted.
Two Original Stars in Talks for New 'Scream' Trilogy
June 03, 2009 02:06:34Talks of new "Scream" trilogy have been brought up to the surface once again as Entertainment Weekly (EW) reported on possible return of several original stars. According to the publication, both Courteney Cox and David Arquette have been approached by writer/director Kevin Williamson to reprise their roles in what EW called to be a reboot project.
Though suggesting possibilities of the two actors' return, EW noted that deals have yet to be signed. But, it is said that everyone involved in the negotiations are working a deal that will avoid potential scheduling conflicts from Courteney's involvement in "Cougar Town", which was picked up by ABC earlier.

Old Faces Could Be Seen in 'Scream 4'
January 13, 2009 12:01:07While earlier reports suggested that "Scream 4" may be far from fruition, it seems that the next installment of the horror thriller franchise is still moving on. Bloody-Disgusting recently came up with a report, suggesting that several of the original main characters, Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox and David Arquette, would make their returns.
However, since this feature project is intended to be a younger version of the "Scream" movies, those three will only make cameo appearances. Campbell, Cox and Arquette, who all have starred in the previous three "Scream" films as Sidney Prescott, Gale Weathers and Deputy Dwight Riley respectively, reportedly are in negotiation for the cameos. Nonetheless, there are yet words on the possible cameos from Dimension Films.

A photograph was obtained by People magazine, showing Kate's home being decorated with pumpkins, spider webs, witches and even severed heads hanging from the trees. A guest who happened to be at the star-studded party told People, the pool, located in the backyard, was covered and made into a dance floor.

Joining Cox and Arquette in the awareness-and money-raising effort are close friend Jennifer Aniston, Orlando Bloom, Kate Beckinsale, Rashida Jones, James Marsden, Eva Longoria Parker, Aniston's ex-husband, Brad Pitt, Gwen Stefani, and Gavin Rossdale. Suspected to rip off the premise presented in a 2002 feature titled "The Truth About Beef Jerky", filmmakers of slasher flick "The Tripper" are facing a lawsuit for copyright infringement filed by screenwriter of the movie, Fritz Junker.
Report from TMZ informed that Junker had placed legal papers in a Los Angeles court Thursday, August 16, 2007 alleging director David Arquette and his Coquette Productions Inc. shingle for copying the story of "Beef Jerky" as both films centers on a group of modern-day hippies who get hunted by a psychopath at a music festival in California.

The as yet untitled project, to which ABC has made a script commitment, centers on a gumshoe whose life changes when his 10-year-old son and ex-wife come back to town after eight years.
The couple is said to work alongside former "Everybody Loves Raymond" writer-producer Jeremy Stevens who will serve as an executive producer with them and is writing the pilot.
