September 22, 2009 02:09:51Long denied a release date, Amerie's "Heard 'Em All" is finally taking shape with the release of its music video's behind the scenes featurette. Shot back in August with director Anthony Mandler, the video is missing the song's featured artist Lil Wayne but boasting a pyrotechnics and some sets that require huge budget.
"We're just trying to do something that was rooted in fashion and kind of apocalyptic and kind of futuristic," Mandler explained the concept. "Raw, rugged, in your face. Less about the story and more about creating a movement." He continued, "We started off the day in the futuristic, apocalyptic world," before adding that he won't spoil too much to reveal the "surprise".

June 09, 2009 09:06:53Before Amerie's new single "Why R U" hits radios across America on June 15, a music video for the track is put out on BET on June 8. Directed by Ray Kay, this video mainly focuses on the R&B singer's performance.
"Why R U" is worked on by The Buchanans for Amerie's Def Jam debut album "In Love & War" which is slated to arrive this August. The song has been debuted on her MySpace for free stream since May 11.

In the new record, she works with producers Teddy Riley on "Tell Me You Love Me", Sean Garrett & Eric Hudson on "Heard 'Em All", Jim Johnson & Rico Love on "Swagback" and Brian Michael Cox on "Red Eye".
Its lead single "Why R U" has been debuted on Amerie's MySpace on May 11. Already being played on New York City Hot 97 radio DJ Funk Master Flex for 15 minutes straight, the Buchanans-produced song will officially start to get radio airplays on June 15.
Amerie Signs New Record Deal With Def Jam

As it was previously predicted by some media, the R 'n' B singer did eventually signed with Island Def Jam Records.
Revealing about the news a source close to the singer told the press, "She was offered a deal too good to turn down and the promise to build upon her reputation for classy and sexy R+B." Moreover, the source also stated that despite her previous records with Columbia haven't been considered successful, Amerie is "ready to step it up a gear now."

The single features collaboration from R'n'B singer Amerie although, according to some reports, her slot was originally planned for Rihanna and Ludacris. Chingy previously described the song to have the "mainstream feel".

Despite its moderate success in U.K., Amerie's new album 'Because I Love It' is being stalled in its U.S. release. The label has just announced that the third studio album won't be on the market until 2008.
"It's not currently on Columbia Records' release schedule, though the label is aiming to issue it early next year," Billboard.com reported.

R&B crooner Amerie thinks it will be fun to have a collaboration with rock acts The Killers and Coldplay, and she's serious about it. In the coming months she will try to reschedule her brief meeting with Coldplay's frontman Chris Martin.
"I'm a big fan of The Killers. I'd love to do something with them, and Coldplay," Amerie told the Daily Star. "I was due to hook up with Chris Martin a while back but then his baby was born. Hopefully we'll reschedule."

Meanwhile, music group The Diplomats was named Best Group. Rapper T.I., to add, won the Street Anthem award for "U Don't Know Me."
Ricky Martin Talks About "Life"
October 10, 2005 12:10:20Years working on his music career, Latin singer Ricky Martin feels the need for changes. The star begins talking about "Life." It's his first English-language album since 2000's "Sound Loaded."
"Life," which is slated for an October 11 release date via Columbia, is aimed to reconnect Martin with his fans as he delves into new musical styles. "I hope I'm not the same artist I was five years ago, because it would be impossible," so says Martin. "Life -- where it takes you, what you see, what you read -- changes you. Definitely, when I began to create for this album, the one thing I wanted was to not even attempt to do what I had already done. That's why I played with many genres I hadn't visited before, and I made them mine," he continues.
