AceShowbiz - James Kennedy, the 32-year-old DJ widely known for his stint on "Vanderpump Rules", was arrested at his home in California on a recent Tuesday night, December 12 following reports of a heated argument with a woman rumored to be his girlfriend, Ally Lewber.
Despite domestic violence allegation against Kennedy, "Ally has been telling friends she's doing OK,†a source exclusively revealed to Page Six. The 28-year-old astrologer reportedly reassuring loved ones that she feels "safe" and is "not in any danger" with Kennedy despite the turmoil.
Just a day after the arrest, Lewber attended a holiday-themed influencer event and appeared in good spirits, posing for photos and interacting positively with attendees. She was also spotted entering the home she shares with Kennedy, smiling and chatting on a phone call.
Kennedy's lawyers, Scott Leeman and Leonard Levine, stated they are conducting their own investigation into the allegations, hoping that the city attorney's office will decide against filing formal charges. "We understand that there were no injuries and we are hoping that after careful review, the city attorney's office will decide not to file formal charges," the lawyers told Page Six.
However, Kennedy's past relationships have painted a grimmer picture. Rachel Leviss, Kennedy's ex-fiancée, was "not surprised" by his arrest, suggesting he has history of violence during their relationship.
Leviss has previously detailed alleged violent outbursts and substance abuse issues in a lawsuit, including an incident where Kennedy allegedly kicked her family dog "four times in an uncontrollable rage."
Kristen Doute, another ex-girlfriend who dated Kennedy from 2014 to 2015, also alluded to past abuse, writing "finally" on social media in response to his arrest. Doute previously claimed that she had to hide at a friend's house following an alleged physical altercation with Kennedy in 2022.
The incident has thrown Kennedy's public image into contention while prompting a stronger dialogue on issues surrounding domestic violence. Only time will tell how these allegations will affect Kennedy's future, but as of now, both he and Lewber are moving forward, contending with the fallout in their own ways.
