On Tuesday, December 17, a source spilled the aftermath of the 32-year-old reality TV star's arrest for domestic violence. Speaking to The U.S. Sun, the source said, "Of course her family isn't happy with any of this."
The source explained, "There's aspects of James they completely love, he can have the best heart. But his dark side is something her family doesn't want her to tolerate and now that it's come to a head like this, they're trying to open Ally's eyes."
"Ultimately no, they don't want James and Ally together," the source continued. "They want the best for James but Ally is their little girl and she doesn't deserve what he's put her through. It's a parent's worst nightmare. Her mom just wants her little girl to be safe and happy."
About Ally's condition following James' arrest, the insider revealed that she is "doing okay, as good as can be expected." The insider elaborated, "She's really leaning on her friends and family right now and everyone is showing up for her."
"She is very loved and everyone just wants her to know how valued and strong she is," the insider added. "It seems she's forgotten some of that strength and independence along the way but she is finding it again. She is fine but mentally she is processing a lot."

The revelation came after James made headlines for his wrongdoing. On December 10, he was arrested for misdemeanor domestic battery following an argument with Ally. He reportedly grabbed her, lifting her up and throwing her to the ground. Cops did not observe any injuries on her at the scene.
Earlier on Tuesday, James broke his silence after the arrest. "I am committed to making meaningful changes in my life," Kennedy wrote on Instagram Stories. "I am taking time to focus on my sobriety, personal growth, and being present for my loved ones."
