AceShowbiz - Oprah Winfrey has shared her response to a rumor about her Kamala Harris endorsement. The former host of "The Oprah Winfrey Show" shut down the claim suggesting that she was paid $1 million for her Kamala campaign.
Recently, the 70-year-old TV personality addressed the rumor about her being paid to endorse the Vice President prior to the 2024 presidential election. She set the record straight on the matter when she was approached by a paparazzo during a stroll.
In a video, which was published by TMZ on Monday, November 11, it could be seen that Oprah was making her way to her car, which was parked on the side of a street. She received a question that read, "How do you think the election went?" In response, she said, "I'm not talking about that. Thank you very much," before flashing her smile at the camera.
The paparazzo went on to ask, "Is it true that they paid you a million dollars for the endorsement for Kamala?" In return, Oprah stressed, "Not true." She then stated, "I was paid nothing, ever." When she received a third question about Donald Trump winning the election, she politely declared, "I'm not talking about that," before hopping in her car.
The clarification came after it was reported that Oprah's company received money following an event supporting Kamala. The claim suggested that Harpo Productions "walked away with a hefty chunk of change to host a celebrity town hall on behalf of the Democratic nominee in September."
Before Donald Trump was announced as the winner of the 2024 presidential election, Oprah publicly voiced her support for Kamala. On November 4, the actress/executive producer made an appearance at a Kamala rally in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
During the star-studded political event, Oprah stepped on the stage with a number of first voters to give her speech. She rocked a white tee featuring a black "YES SHE CAN" graphic on its front side, seemingly referring to will.i.am's song that he dedicated to the Vice President.
