AceShowbiz - 2022 is such an eventful year for Mary J. Blige. The "Family Affair" hitmaker, who was among headliners at this year's Super Bowl halftime show, was honored with "Strength of a Woman Day" in Atlanta ahead of its inaugural festival.
Presenting the award was Atlanta councilwoman Keisha Sean Waites on Thursday night, May 5. The event was also attended by rapper 2 Chainz, TV personality Kandi Burruss, celebrity stylist Misa Hylton as well as music executive Kenny Burns.
The Strength of a Woman Festival & Summit is taking place this Mother's Day weekend, with the likes of City Girls, Chaka Khan, Yung Baby Tate and others being set to perform throughout the event. The 51-year-old previously announced on Twitter and Instagram, "Good Morning Gorgeous! Welcome to the inauguration, the beginning and the debut!"
"Yours Truly and @Pepsi presents the Strength of a Woman Festival and Summit 2022 in partnership with @LiveNationUrban," she added. "Our purpose is to empower, educate and elevate! May 6-8 in Atlanta, Georgia."
On February 13, Mary took the stage of Inglewood's SoFi stadium alongside Dr. Dre, Kendrick Lamar, Snoop Dogg and Eminem for Pepsi Super Bowl LVI halftime show. At the time, the singer, who wore white crystal bodysuit and thigh-high boots, wowed the audience with her hit songs "Family Affair" and "No More Drama".
Later that month, Mary joined the likes of DJ Khaled, Lil Baby, Gunna, Migos, Lil Wayne and Ludacris performing at the 2022 NBA All-Star Show. Following her gig, she gushed on Instagram, "Wow! I've been blessed to be apart of 2 of the biggest moments in sports!!What an #amazing weekend! #NBAAllStar75 @sterlingpics #GoodMorningGorgeous."
Mary is also set to receive the Icon Award at the 2022 Billboard Music Awards, which will be hosted by hip-hop mogul Sean "P. Diddy" Combs on May 15.
