The Bad Boy Records founder raises $3.5 million at the beginning of his house dance party which boasts a number of celebrity guests including Rita Wilson and Naomi Campbell.

AceShowbiz - Sean "Diddy" Combs raised more than $3.5 million to aid U.S. healthcare workers during the first hour of his Easter Sunday, April 12, 2020 digital dance party.

The music mogul hastily organised the coronavirus relief benefit in collaboration with bosses at Direct Action, and kicked off the holiday event with his family on Instagram Live at 3 P.M. EST.

The charity event opened with a set by DJ D-Nice, before P. Diddy invited actress/singer Rita Wilson to join in the livestreamed bash.

During the appearance, the Bad Boy Records founder gave Wilson's rap skills the thumbs up as she delivered an "incredible" rendition of her new Naughty By Nature fundraising collaboration, "Hip Hop Hooray (Remix)".

Diddy also inquired about Wilson's health, after recently returning to Los Angeles from Australia, where she and her husband Tom Hanks had been quarantined as they battled Covid-19.

After Diddy insisted she was "glowing," Wilson shared, "I am feeling fantastic, we both are."

She went on to thank the "amazing" health workers Down Under who had taken care of the Hollywood couple, adding the actors feel so "blessed" to have recovered from the potentially-deadly illness.

The beginning of Diddy's hours-long dance party also featured a chat with Brazilian superstar Anitta, and models Naomi Campbell and Winnie Harlow, while Snoop Dogg, Kelly Rowland, Justin Bieber, DJ Khaled, and Lizzo are set to make remote cameos, too.

Diddy also teased an appearance by his ex-girlfriend, Jennifer Lopez, and her fiance, former baseball ace Alex Rodriguez, in addition to Megan Thee Stallion, Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys, and Mark Wahlberg.

Following the first hour of the dance party, Diddy announced the bash had already helped him raise $3.5 million and counting for healthcare staff in underprivileged areas of the U.S.

The event is taking place here.
