'The Farewell' is named the best indie film while Adam Sandler is crowned as the best male lead and Renee Zellweger takes home the best female lead title.

AceShowbiz - "The Farewell" and "Uncut Gems" were the big winners at the 2020 Independent Spirit Awards in Santa Monica, California on Saturday, February 8, 2020.
Robert De Niro presented the Best Feature honour to "The Farewell", which also earned Zhao Shuzhen a Best Supporting Female prize, while "Uncut Gems" landed Adam Sandler the Best Male Lead honour, and brothers Benny & Josh Safdie the Best Director trophy. The movie also claimed the Best Editing award.
Renee Zellweger added to her 2019/2020 awards season haul, scoring the Best Female Lead honour for "Judy", while Willem Dafoe ("The Lighthouse") picked up the Best Supporting Male gong.
