AceShowbiz - Rising rapper Lil Xan has checked himself into a rehabilitation facility to help him overcome his substance abuse issues.
The "Betrayed" MC, real name Diego Leanos, marked the first anniversary of his pal Lil Peep's fatal overdose last month by sharing his plans to seek treatment after struggling with opioid addiction, and he made good on his vow on Sunday, December 02.
He apparently handed over the running of his Instagram account to his new girlfriend, Anniie Smith, who shared the update with fans online.
"Diego was just admitted into his first treatment," she wrote beside a photo of the rapper. "He loves each and every one of you sending good wishes and prayers to him. We thank you all so very much for all of the love and support you are sending his way."
She also updated the profile page to notify followers that she will be overseeing the account "Until Diego gets home in Roughly a month."
Lil Xan, who briefly dated singer/actress Noah Cyrus over the summer, previously explained he wanted to be clean and sober in order to complete work on an upcoming Mac Miller tribute album.
"I couldn't be happier with this choice," the 22 year old tweeted in mid-November. "I love you guys for being so supportive and can't wait too get back clean headed ready to finish my album (sic)."
"Mac Miller hit too close to home," he added of the hip-hop star's drug-related passing in September. "I know we struggle with the same problems and I just feel like it's time to get better... I want to do rehab so I can get over this last little hump, so I can finally be back to Diego (sic)."
