On Thursday, October 6, Canadian rapper PARTYNEXTDOOR, along with his friend, was arrested for trying to transport drugs in the U.S. border.

AceShowbiz - PARTYNEXTDOOR may have to live behind the bars. In a press release that was posted on October 5, State police at Niagara reported that they arrested two men at the Lewiston-Queenston Bridge for drug possession. One of them turns out to be Jahron Brathwaite, who's famously known as PARTYNEXTDOOR. He was arrested with his friend Jerome Nevins at 9:30 A.M.

The rapper and his friend were crossing the U.S. border when the bus that they were riding in was stopped for a secondary inspection. The U.S Customs and Border personnel called in state troopers to help them with the inspection and that's when the drugs were found. According to the police reports, they found Xanax and Oxycodone in PND's possession, while his friend who was arrested with him, was found in alleged Xanax possession.

Both of them were issued appearance tickets returnable in the Town and Lewiston Court and charged with seventh-degree Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance. As of now, PND has not released any official statement regarding the arrest.

The singer/songwriter just released an EP entitled "Seven Days" last week, featuring guest appearances of Rick Ross in the single "Better Man" and Halsey in the single "Damage". The surprise EP features seven singles that he made in one week. It includes "The Right Way", "Bad Intentions", "Never Played Me", "Best Friends" and "Love Me Again". The Toronto rapper is currently hitting the road with Halsey and Charli XCX for Halsey's "Hopeless Fountain Kingdom" tour. The arrest will not likely affect the tour.

Aside from dropping the new EP unexpectedly, PND also released a few new solo singles such as "Own Up to Your S**t", which was made for her ex Kehlani, and collaborative singles such as "Cartier" with rapper Jadakiss. The 24-year-old rapper is also reported to be working on a full length album for next year, but with the recent arrest, the release date may be pushed back.
