Explosion at Ariana Grande's Gig in Manchester Killed 19 People, Injured 50 Others

The unexplained explosion which led to deaths and injuries among concertgoers is still being investigated and currently being treated as a 'terrorist incident.'

AceShowbiz - Ariana Grande's concert in Manchester on Monday, May 22 ended in tragedy with multiple fatalities and injuries after an explosion erupted in the venue. According to the latest statement released by Greater Manchester Police, nineteen people have been confirmed dead, while fifty concertgoers were injured. The case is currently being considered as a terrorist attack.

The explosion took place within the Manchester Arena's foyer area at 10.30 P.M. local time. NBC reported "multiple U.S. officials say U.K. authorities suspect Manchester incident was conducted by a suicide bomber."

"Suddenly everybody started screaming and running for the exit... We could hear the police and ambulance sirens. It was terrifying," a concertgoer told Daily Mail. "There were thousands of people trying to get out at once. They were all screaming and crying. The whole place smelt smokey and burnt."

The concert was a part of Ariana's "Dangerous Woman Tour". A rep for the pop star has confirmed that she is "okay" and claimed that her team is still investigating what happened at that time.

The music industry is mourning. Following the news, well-wishes and prayers were sent by Ariana's fellow artists, such as Katy Perry, Bruno Mars, Demi Lovato, Fifth Harmony, Josh Groban, Halsey, Noah Cyrus, Niall Horan and more.

Demi wrote, "Tearing up imagining innocent concert goers losing their lives... praying for everyone and all." Meanwhile, Bruno Mars tweeted, "No words can describe how I feel about what happened in Machester. I don't wanna believe that the world we live could be so cruel."

Fifth Harmony also sent out their condolences, tweeting, "Just saw the news about Manchester... Our hearts are breaking. Prayers for all who attended, their families, Ari and her whole crew." As for Niall Horan, he wrote, "Absolutely Horrendous what happened in Manchester tonight. My thoughts are with the great people of Manchester and also Ari and her team."
