Lionsgate has postponed the new big-screen take on "Power Rangers". The superhero movie was originally scheduled to make its way out on July 22, 2016, but it now has been pushed back roughly six months to January 13 the following year.

No casting announcement has been made for the project. Dean Israelite ("Project Almanac") will direct the color-coded superheroes which is scripted by Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz ("Thor", "X-Men: First Class"). Roberto Orci serves as a producer.

In its original date, the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers movie was supposed to face off an untitled Ghostbusters reboot and "Knights of the Roundtable: King Arthur". Now it's pitted against "Boss Baby" starring Alec Baldwin and Kevin Spacey.

The studio also delays "Criminal", an action thriller starring Kevin Costner, Ryan Reynolds, Gal Gadot, and Gary Oldman, from August 21 this year to January 22, 2016. Drama comedy "Dirty Grandpa" led by Robert De Niro and Zac Efron is postponed from December 25 this year to February 26, 2016.

"American Ultra" and "La La land", meanwhile, get release dates. The former which stars Jesse Eisenberg and Kristen Stewart is booked for a August 21, 2015 release, while the latter which pairs Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone is set to arrive in North America theaters on July 15, 2016.

Meanwhile, Summit makes an adjustment for Alex Proyas' "Gods of Egypt". The actioner starring Gerard Butler and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau leaves February 12, 2016 to occupy April 8, 2016.
