Common Rumored to Play Black Manta in 'Suicide Squad'

The 'Glory' rapper is reportedly attached to play Aquaman's enemy in the antihero movie due August 5, 2016.

AceShowbiz - The role that Common is going to play in the upcoming DC movie "Suicide Squad" may have come to light. In a Twitter post, Joblo's editor-in-chief Paul Shirey claims the "Glory" rapper is tapped to play Aquaman's villain, the Black Manta, in the David Ayer-directed antihero flick.

The film is scheduled to make its way out on August 5, 2016 in the United States. It stars Jared Leto as The Joker, Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flagg, Will Smith as Deadshot, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang, and Cara Delevingne as Enchantress.

Ben Affleck and Jesse Eisenberg are also rumored to make cameos as Batman and Lex Luthor. The storyline is still kept under tight wraps, but it will follow a team of DC Comic supervillains who are given a chance at redemption. Viola Davis' Amanda Waller will be in charge of the elite team.
