AceShowbiz - Hollywood celebrities took to social media on Wednesday, April 22 to commemorate the Earth Day. Among those who urged their fans to do something positive for Mother Earth were Leonardo DiCaprio, Ellen DeGeneres and Miley Cyrus.

Leonardo shared on Instagram two photos of earth, one of which accompanied with a quote from Henry David Thoreau which read, "What is the use of a house if you haven't got a tolerable planet to put it on?" The "Titanic" actor captioned it, "#EarthDay2015 #regram RG @sierraclub: Happy Earth Day!"

Ellen posted on Twitter, "It's #EarthDay! Take a minute to appreciate the world around you. Pet a squirrel. Scatter sunflower seeds around your home. Wash a tree." Miley, meanwhile, shared a photo of her sleeping with her two dogs along with a lengty caption, urging her fans to never stop celebrating Earth Day.

Other celebrities like Pharrell Williams, Gisele Bundchen, Russell Simmons, Kelly Osbourne, Kerry Washington and Mark Ruffalo also showed their support for Earth Day. Pharrell tweeted, "It always seem impossible until it is done - Nelson Mandela. Take climate change action today #EarthDay." Gisele wrote on Instagram, "Today is Earth Day! Let's love, honor and take care of our beautiful Mother Earth. We are One. Our well being depends on how we take care of our planet. This is our home, the only one we have. #EarthDay."
