A lawyer for Thicke and Williams says, 'We owe it to song writers around the world to make sure this verdict doesn't stand.'

AceShowbiz - Robin Thicke and Pharrell Williams are fighting the verdict that favored Marvin Gaye's family in the "Blurred Lines" copyright infringement case. Their lawyer Howard E. King confirms they will bring the case back to court to seek appeal for the ruling.

"We owe it to song writers around the world to make sure this verdict doesn't stand," the lawyer told FOX Business News. "My clients know that they wrote the song 'Blurred Lines' from their hearts and souls and no other source. We are going to exercise every post trial remedy we have to make sure this verdict does not stand. We look at it as being in the seventh inning of a game that could go into extra innings."

"They sleep well knowing they didn't copy the song," King said of his clients to Rolling Stone in a separate interview. "I believe that not only for themselves but for creative people everywhere, they're going to pursue this to a fair and just conclusion that will be different than this jury's verdict."

Thicke and Williams were accused of ripping off Marvin Gaye's 1977 song "Got to Give It Up" for their T.I.-assisted single "Blurred Lines" which raked in over $16 million since being released in 2013. They were ordered by court to pay the Gaye family $7.3 million. The family also plans to seek an injunction to halt "Blurred Lines" sales until both sides can agree on the distribution of future revenue.
