Country music singer Taylor Swift is set to make a collaboration with rapper T-Pain during the gala ceremony of 2009 CMT Awards. They have done a rehearsal for their forthcoming performance in Nashville, Tennessee on June 9.

Taylor Swift has been keen to work with artists from rap genre. She recently tweeted, "If I said I was in the studio with T-Pain, would you believe me?" She also said that she "loved it when Tim McGraw paired up with Nelly" and is interested to work with Lil Wayne. "That would be awesome. I would want to sing one of his hooks," she stated.

Beside recruiting Taylor Swift and T-Pain, producers for the awards have also signed Rascal Flatts, Toby Keith, Brad Paisley, Sugarland, Keith Urban, Trace Adkins, Jason Aldean, Dierks Bentley, Lady Antebellum, Kellie Pickler and Darius Rucker as musical acts. Joining those country music musicians in the performers list are English rock band Def Leppard.

2009 CMT Music Awards is going to take place at Nashville's Sommet Center on June 16 with comedian Bill Engvall being set to host. Its presenters include Rodney Atkins, Billy Currington, Julianne Hough, Naomi Judd, Martina McBride and Lee Ann Womack. Meanwhile, its nomination is led by Sugarland who received five nods.
