Tank

Tank is back at the top of Billboard's Adult R&B Airplay chart. The "Maybe I Deserve" crooner scored his second No.1 on the list thanks to his June track "Slow", which features a guest appearance from J. Valentine.

The seductive track jumped one rank with a surge in plays that made it the most-played song on U.S. monitored radio stations in the week ending October 30, according to Luminate. Meanwhile, on the R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart, the tune landed at No. 17 from No. 18, marking his seventh Top 20 effort on the list.

"Slow" is the third No. 1 single off Tank's tenth studio album, "R&B Money", following "I Deserve" and "Can't Let It Show". The first two received nominations for "Best Collaboration" and "Album of The Year" at the 2022 Soul Train Awards.

Tank previously announced that "R&B Money" would be his final studio album. Arriving on August 19, the project also features guest appearances from Chris Brown ("See Through Love"), Alex Isle ("No Limit"), Vedo ("Morning"), Feather ("Make Sure"), Rotimi & Tverse ("Let's Take a Ride") and Blaq Tuxedo ("Awesome").

Of the album, Tank explained, "R&B Money is a labor of love to my fans and to the genre of R&B." He added, "This is who I am! I wouldn't be here if it weren't for artists like Marvin Gaye, Teddy Pendergrass, Keith Sweat, Al Green, as well as my fans who inspire me every day to make music."

"I wanted this album to pay homage to my influences and my evolution as an artist," the Baltimore-born artist, whose real name is Durrell Artaze Babbs, further elaborated. "And I think that's what this final album represents."

Aside from the success of his latest effort "R&B Money", Tank recently celebrated the launch of his and J. Valentine's podcast under the same name. To mark the special moment, he declared in an Instagram video, "If we haven't shown you the value in R&B music, in R&B entities - if we haven't shown you that yet, if you don't believe, good luck."

"I encourage you to get in early 'cause s**t is about to get expensive," the 46-year-old added. In the caption, he boasted, "We gave you an opportunity to catch this plane before it took off! You’re late! Everything we touch is #1!"

TANK BIO

Only giving up the first throne to Linkin Park's Minutes to Midnight, Tank took on the runner up position of Billboard Hot 200 chart with his third effort Sex, Love & Pain. The record was sold 103,000 copies in the first week of its release, a number that became his best selling and charting debut to date. Among R&B crooners, on the other hand, the sale number of Sex, Love & Pain was recorded the highest and was considered a hot shot after reigning the Billboard R&B chart. This May 15, 2007 release also helped the first single Please Don't Go to instantly climb up 22 places to #42 after 11 weeks bubbling under the perimeter 60 in Hot 100 chart. The song has better luck in R&B chart by sitting at #2 even after 29 weeks of circulation. Off his solo career, Tank tries to have a balance by forming a group called TGT with his fellow warriors Tyrese Gibson and Genuwine. For a start, the group will remix Tank's latest hit Please Don't Go. » more
