One of Pete's wishes upon his death was to not have a lavish funeral. Instead, he asks for a party in the form of a Balinese sendoff complete with laughter, dancing and singing to celebrate his life. Addison hosts the bash at her place, as Violet has put her house up for sale. There's a karaoke machine in the corner, but no one is quite drunk enough to kick of the musical portion of the party just yet.

Various guests pay their respects while recalling all the ways Pete helped them. Violet politely smiles as another guest cries in the background during each anecdote. All these stories ultimately get to be too much, so Violet escapes to the patio area to share a bag of chips with Mason. If anyone understands the lousy feeling that comes with losing someone you love it's this kid. Mason's words seem to help Violet a bit. The chips are good, too.

Cooper is caught off guard when Violet asks if he would be guardian to Lucas should anything happen to her. He believes this is going to be a tough sell to Charlotte, who is not exactly thrilled about the prospect of have a litter of babies now that she's carrying triplets. As for Violet, she retreats to the upstairs bathroom to make use of some marijuana Sam found in Pete's jacket pocket. Well, her hubby did say he wanted folks to party.

Violet gets high while stretching out in a waterless tub. An equally-baked Cooper joins her in the big, white, porcelain lounge area while a ganja-free Addison orders pizzas. Sam and Jake follow the cheesy treats up the stairs. Soon everyone is hanging out in the bathroom reminiscing about Pete while the rest of the guests mourn downstairs.

Sheldon is MIA at Pete's memorial because he's dealing with a troubled patient back at the office. Nick is man who is supremely unhappy with his life. That's why he's going to end it by killing himself. The distraught man believes this is his only option, as he's prone to having indecent thoughts about little girls. He's afraid he may act on these urges one day. Nick believes he's a monster. He feels the only solution is for him to die.

Sheldon assures his patient that they can work on his impulse control. Nick is stunned to learn that someone actually wants to help him. He didn't expect this. That's why he swallowed a bunch of pills. Sheldon calls 911 when Nick starts convulsing in his office. His patient apologizes for doing this to him. He just didn't want to die alone. Nick pulls through after being admitted to the hospital. Sheldon lets him know that every life is worth saving. He'll back in the morning to help his patient take the next steps.

In random news, Sam believes he and Addison should resort to small talk with each other in an effort to remain friends. Charlotte lets Cooper know that, of course, they'll take care of Lucas should something happen to Violet as long as he's not stoned if/when it happens. As for Violet, she's doing her best to keep it together as another mourning guest cries incessantly in front of her. Addison also tears up when Derek calls to let her know that Mark Sloan is dead. It's a very sad scene. It's the exact opposite of what Pete wanted.

Violet has had enough. She cranks up the karaoke machine to start singing "Someone to Watch Over Me." All of the guests watch in silence. Things take a truly awkward turn when Violet stops singing and starts yelling. She finally lets out all the feelings she's been keeping bottled up inside. Late arrival Sheldon obliges Violet's request to tell her that everything will be all right.

Addison admits to Amelia that she initially didn't think she was good enough to be her surrogate. She was wrong. Addy sees how much Amelia loves her son. That's why she asks her to be Henry's guardian should anything ever happen to her. Addison also breaks the news about Mark. She learns that Sam will, indeed, be her friend again someday. And they won't even need the small talk.

Violet asks Cooper to walk her out to the beach. She honors Pete's request to have his ashes spread out into the ocean. Then Violet breaks down in her best friend's arms. She says, "I didn't have enough time." Tears continue flow as the waves tumble onto the beach at their feet.
