Max storms into the kitchen, demanding to know the specific protocol on asking a girl on a date. Worried, Kristina tells him to just be direct and ask. At school, Max charges around looking for Dylan, a man of purpose - until he spies her kissing fellow student Aaron Brownstein in the kitchen. Pivoting on his heel, Max stomps into his mother's office, insisting she expel Aaron Brownstein immediately. In moments, Max is in full meltdown mode and fomenting revolution, handing out flyers to the students, detailing all the reasons why Aaron should be expelled. None too happy, Aaron confronts Max in front of Dylan, calling him a "little bitch." Infuriated, Max starts screaming and attacks Aaron. On edge, Kristina rushes in to break up the fight. When she picks up a flyer and asks, "Excessive PD - what does that even mean?" Max explains in front of all the students that it means Aaron kissed Dylan. Finally it all makes sense to Kristina; she knows her son's heart is broken. Kristina sends Aaron back to class and sits Max down for a talk. As Max's mom, Kristina knows his feelings are hurt, but he doesn't want to talk about it. Is he in trouble for distributing the flyer? No.

Crosby's upset to learn Jasmine has taken a filing job at her mother's office. She claims it's only temporary until The Luncheonette gets back on its feet, but Crosby sees it as another sign of his failure. This means that Grandma Camille will be watching Aida while Crosby and Jasmine are at work. Both Camille and Jasmine's mom Renee are surprised at Jasmine's choice - everyone knows she was hoping to stay home with Aida until kindergarten. Concessions are also being made at The Luncheonette, where Amber and Crosby are mixing cat food jingles, part of Adam's new strategy to "pivot" their business model at a deep discount. Later, Crosby blasts the Ramones in an effort to clean the cat food notes out of the studio. Amber turns down the music with more bad news: Adam just called; they booked a toothpaste jingle at a reduced rate. That's when Amber and Crosby hatch a plan: Amber heard a decent band called Cornfed is shopping for a studio - and they're playing tonight at 11:00. It's time for them to fight to take back the dream of The Luncheonette! It's a brand new team, pregnant girl and the dad.

Sandy and Ruby are arguing as usual on the way into Hank's studio. Sandy has to go out of town and she doesn't trust Ruby to stay on her own... but Hank does, because he has a client. Sandy's stunned, but agrees to their plan. That night during his shoot, Hank calls Ruby to check in. She claims the voices he's hearing are from the television, then angrily tells him that she's keeping her promise not to have anyone over. But of course, she's got a ton of kids in the living room and a keg in the bathroom. For once, Hank listens to his inside voice and drives over to Sandy's. Horrified to find kids drinking and smoking on the porch, Hank calls Sandy, then reclines his car seat hiding from Ruby because he has no idea what to do. After a few minutes, Hank screws up his courage and wades through Sandy's living room to confront Ruby. "I'm the dad, which means get out now!" Trying to make the best of a bad situation, Hank makes Ruby clean up, but she's pouty and mad - she doesn't know what happened; she only invited four people. Ruby blows up when Hank admits he already told Sandy about the party - why is Hank so mad at her? When Hank admits he's hurt that Ruby lied and manipulated him by saying "I love you," she stomps off to bed. Her voice dripping with sarcasm, Ruby claims she really doesn't love her father at all. She hates him.

It's late when Dylan stops by the house to talk to Kristina. The truth is, Dylan is never going to like Max romantically, but she doesn't want to hurt his feelings. When Max hears her voice, he comes downstairs to ask, "What are you doing here? We're not friends." Across town, Hank has cleaned the house by himself by the time Sandy gets home. Hank can't believe she's laughing. The truth is for the first time, she doesn't feel alone in dealing with Ruby, whose ass is going to be grounded for a good long time.

Amber stops by campus to ask Drew to come to The Elbow Room to see Cornfed, but he's got an econ retest because he did so poorly on the first one. When Amber prevails upon him to have fun - this could be their last chance to have fun - Drew reminds her that she's about to lose her job. No one's going to have any money, so he has to succeed on his econ test! Meanwhile, Crosby and Jasmine have dinner with Renee, who advises Crosby to pursue a side career in real estate. It might help him bring in more money. Jasmine tries to shut her mother up, but the insult to Crosby's business has been leveled. After dinner, Jasmine wrinkles her nose when she spies Crosby packing some weed for his night out with Amber. It's strike three for Crosby, despite Jasmine's insistence that they're all in it together. Crosby stomps off to the club, where the bouncer pats him down at the door, finding his weed. While the fighting starts, Amber bends over in pain. Something's wrong - they have to go to the hospital right now! Luckily, it's only Braxton Hicks contractions.
