Allison's tumor starts to grow again and she ends up dying in surgery. We jump ahead six months where Ariel is now working at the DA's office, helping in much the same way Allison did while Allison, as a ghost communicates to Ariel, helping her solve the crimes. She's approached by another ghost, Mary, asking to solve her murder. During the investigation, Devalos dies from an allergic reaction and Allison encourages Ariel to forge a relationship with the new DA and together they solve the murder. We jump again 30 years in time to when Joe dies and his ghost is reunited with Allison who was waiting for him. Allison wakes up in the hospital. She's had surgery that has successfully removed her entire tumor. The entire episode was a near death experience. She is able to put Mary's real killer away. The family attends the wedding of Scanlon and DiNovi.
