Allison helps Scanlon track down a killer who's dressing as a vagrant and pushing victims onto train tracks. They discover he's suing a burger joint he worked at in '88 where he got asbestosis. He's been killing former coworkers to get a larger percentage of the settlement. Allison urges Joe to visit his mother, Marjorie, in the hospital where he discovers she's dying of cancer and has no will. She's unfazed, choosing to believe what Allison told her years earlier that she'd live to see Bridgette graduate. Joe breaks the news to his mother and she creates a will before she dies.
