Along with Adele, George Michael, Susan Boyle, and many more celebrities, they were rallying in an evening of performances and skits to raise million dollars for a donation to Africa.

Stars including Sir Paul McCartney, Justin Bieber, Adele, George Michael and Susan Boyle came together for Britain's Comic Relief fundraiser on Friday night, March 18, and helped raise a massive 118 million dollars. Celebrities rallied to take part in the TV telethon at the BBC studios in London and viewers were treated to an evening of performances and skits.

Adele performed her emotional ballad "Someone Like You", boy band JLS sang their single "Eyes Wide Shut", while Take That danced with British comedy stars who were imitating the band in a skit called "Fake That". Michael poked fun at his public image in a sketch with funnyman James Corden, the pair sang along to Wham! songs while driving to the BBC in a pre-recorded clip. Corden was then seen chairing a star-studded meeting, with Bieber playing the keyboard, as celebrities including McCartney, Keira Knightley and Harry Potter actors Tom Felton and Rupert Grint all offered to head to Africa as an ambassador for the organisation.

Boyle donned a wig to sing with funnyman Peter Kay's alter-ego Geraldine McQueen, while actresses Jennifer Saunders and Joanna Lumley teamed up for a TV spoof entitled "Uptown Downstairs Abbey".

Viewers were moved by stories of famine and poverty in Africa, which saw actor David Tennant fight back tears as he met sick children in Uganda during a recent charity trip. The show wrapped up in the early hours of Saturday March 19, and early estimates suggest 118 million dollars was raised through viewer donations and charity events prior to the telethon.
